hey guys anyone owns a Lifebook T2440 Tablet ? Do you know whether I should get a protective screen for the laptop itself?... Im not sure when I got it if there is a protective screen...it doesnt seem like it has but there's a layer which is quite tough and steady above the black layered screen.

I wish to clarify that the previous entry that I have posted was due to some misunderstanding on my end.

My sincere apologizes to all the affected parties; i.e. AsiaPac Distribution Pte Ltd, Fujitsu, NTU Retail & the Computer Eng Dept for all the inconvenience I have caused.

Hi Jamesocw,

Im glad that this misunderstanding has been clear. I too shall remove the quote that you requested since you already apologise to the revelant parties that i requested. Thank you.

missing asian language

Hihi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with this? I reinstalled my windows xp home edition with the recovery cd but after that I realised I can't view asian languages anymore. How do I install asian language with my recovery cd? I can't find the file that the installation needs from the cd...

Please help!

Thanks very much in advance. :s12:

1. Find i386 folder in your Recovery CD.
2. Copy the whole folder to C:
3. Go to Control Panel
4. Go to Regional and Language Options
5. Go to Language Tab
6. Check both boxes for "Install files for complex scripts......" and "Install files for East Asian..."
7. Click Apply and it will prompt you to restart. Reboot your system.
8. Repeat steps 4 - 5.
9. Go to Details
10. Go to Settings Tab
11. Click Add
12. Choose Chinese PRC
13. Click Apply
14. You are there. Repeat the above steps to add other languages.

You can choose to copy the files from CD when they prompted you on steps 6. But I prefer to copy the whole i386 into C: as it will comes very handy next time when you install programs, driver and etc. Instead of prompting you to insert the CD they will auto search the files in C:\i386 and not bothering you.

One more advise google is your best friends. It contains million times the knowledge more then any forumers here. Do find google and ask him what you want next time my fren.

Thanks Vtectican for your help. It worked :)

Now I got another problem. You know when you press the function button and the F* keys, you can adjust your volume? I do not know why my volume onscreen display doesn't appear. My brightness onscreen display is working fine. Did I miss out any program or drivers that I didn't install?

Please enlighten me.

I did googled but I couldn't find any answers.

Thank you. :s11:

this is my 1st laptop and i bought it a year ago in school so it doesn't really have all the featured specs but it has all the necessary things for school. Out of so many brands, I like Fujitsu for its sleekness, big screen and weight (for S series). But Fujitsu is quite expensive, if it wasn't for the promo in school, I don't know when I will get my hands on a Fujitsu laptop :) When I save up enough money, I will consider buying another S series (love it lah for its specs/looks/weight). Not sure if other brands has similar features but I know for sure the price should be close to $3k.

Hee. I wonder if I can get back my antivirus program that came with the laptop? I realise I don't have any antivirus in the CDs given to me. :( so no antivirus on laptop.

i <3 Fujitsu.
