Actually all PCT shops are like that , they destroy all your boxes maybe except for the motherboard box , then those good ones will try to gather and return u some stuffs in your mobo box and some will jitao throw all your boxes away for u and then all the leftover stuffs, either they throw or they left them lying around on their tables or somewhere in their shop

Things like HDD, SSD, graphics cards still OK as there are not much leftover stuffs , but mobos, CPU air/aio coolers and PSU sure got a lot leftover stuffs which are quite important down the road

This is the official parts list of the NR200P. If customer paid retail price for it, they should get exactly this:

aKzJTUO.jpg

It's not even whether the user will use or not. Like I said that's none of their business. Like lovecats said, we r not talking about boxes n wrappers. Buying from SLS stores is equivalent to buying retail separate retail components and if you pay them an assembly fee, they help you put it together. Keeping what is supposed to be in the retail package when the customer paid full retail price, without seeking consent, taking it for granted is simply unacceptable. If you buy a pre-build from them, maybe can still give excuse say the price paid is for the system as advertised. But no, this was not the case.

Note: ARGB cable is not in this list, probably it is in the mobo parts list.

Wanted a full ITX build from them but they ran out of SFX power supply. I told them whether can i buy the full build excluding the power supply which i can get it from another shop, they told me the RTX 3070 i wanted minimum power requirements is 1000W and the Corsair SFX 600W i wanted is not enough to power the card. They refuse to sell me the GPU without the complete power supply. End up my bought my build from another shop. Seriously 1000W PSU for RTX 3070! :s11:

Funny that they rather give up the sale than to sell it without PSU.

*Brain explodes

15 Years, I bought a system for my cousin that was fixed by the famous SLS Uncle.

He even asked whether we want to keep the box or not, if not he will throw away

IIRC, I had my old i7 3960X + Asus Rampage IV Extreme rig built by them almost ten years back, they WERE very good, returned all the boxes including leftover accessories not used.

I was busy with work then, didn't have the time to build a gaming rig so I'd resorted to a full rig assembled by them. My R9 3900X rig was built in 2019, after I'd retired, so I did it myself. No complaints whatsoever with Fuwell then, sad to see they've sunk to a new low now.

Whoever that tall salesman was, I hope his boss is reading this and knows why the shop's rep is in tatters and why customers are leery of doing business with them.

One thing I'd like to add, the i7 3960X and Asus R4E are just awesome, almost 10 years of excellent service!

That’s what I meant. The argb cables came with my cpu cooler. It’s not the common argb 4 pin header. It is the AMD wraith prism cable which are smaller. That’s the issue. If it’s the common cable I can bypass the whole issue. But it’s the special cables and accessories that they purposely left them out which angers me.

Yeah.. anyway I think you already very gracious to say only the special cables left out are a problem.. to me, leaving anything out on purpose without asking is not right. Before anyone make noise, let me say again it's not the boxes and wrapper. It's the parts. There's a reason why the manufacturer give those parts. Even if some of them end up as spares, that's what they are supposed to be - spares for when you need them. Imagine you buy a car, suppose to have spare tyre but dealer kept it, one day car tyre punctured, no choice but to call the tow truck. It is not justified for any retailer to keep any part of any retail item sold at retail price to a retail customer over the counter.

Guess enough have been said about this issue.. in the past few week some info has surfaced and reminded us of the smelly side of SLS.. the bad actors - Bizgram, Tech Deals, Fuwell, Video-Pro - all are old timers, no sense of dignity, elders but don't behave well.

Then there are ones some others have recommended.. Infinity, PC Themes, and for me so far Vii is good..

Well, it's an open market, anyone is free to patronize any stall.. buyer beware, that's all.

I seconded that VII is nice. My previously rig was build by them. Staff are mainly from China. But I had very good experience with them especially Johnny. Despite not building my rig this time round with them, he is willing to sell me my Asus impact crosshair at a good pricing.

And previously, they also help me to assembled everything without anything goes missing.

Most of the SLS stores are very transactional nowadays. There are some that are still customer oriented, but rare now. I think as a lesson, anyone getting parts or getting a complete PC should check before leaving. The last time I bought a case PC case from one of the shops in SLS that is sealed (with masking tape) in the box, it was completely defaced when I unpacked it at home. Its not the same store mentioned here by the way. But just sharing this incident just to show that things can go wrong even if you buy parts. :o

Sorry, noob question. We're able to go up to distro and purchase direct?

What are the upsides to this?

At the end of the day, most of the parts sold in sim lim warranty coverage by Corbell.

In fact you can buy straight from Corbell, they do sell on Lazada.

I bought a Razor Lian Li 011D from them, very good delivery service as well. And the delivery person handled the box with care too.

Same price as SL and the delivery charges added up to be less then a taxi/grabcar ride. Straight to doorstep why not.

Come to think of it, my i7 3960X build could have been from VP, memory's all fuzzy now....guess mine's still on DDR2.=:p Regardless, I used to be quite faithful to the shops I go to, last being Dynacore, but the recent GPU price gouging by those shops in SLS has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Seems like PCT has, at the very least, kept the closest to MSRP, so they're one of the bright spots in SLS. Dunno if it's true now though as I've tried my best not to check out prices of GPU's these days, all my 3 rigs have nice cards so I don't want to scratch an itch that isn't there anymore.

Not sure if you were referring to this tall and skinny guy (about 175cm) and wears black-rimmed glasses?
Anyway, I went there to enquire about monitors. He told me IPS monitors are never curved and only VA panels are curved. At that point (having owned the LG34UC79G which is a curved IPS panel), I immediately knew he was sprouting garbage.

The next moment, he told me my video card (RTX 2070s) will not be able to support games at high refresh rate and 2K resolution, so no point buying a gaming monitor. LOL

Does he not know that most people typically do not play games at native resolutions. Most casual gamers play only at 1080p, albeit at high refresh rates. A modest mid-range graphics card can easily support that. And many people who get gaming monitors want to enjoy the high-resolution in productivity/office work and at the same time, high refresh rates for the occasional gaming.
His point is that if you get a 2K monitor, you can only play games at 2K. :s13:

Anyway, after I stepped outside, I took a look and the shop's name and rolled my eyes.

MOST people does not play games at native resolution? Got link of reputable website article to prove your point or not? I personally play games at native resolution lor...why would I pay for higher spec monitor and only play games at lower resolution...

Correct what...you asking for 2k monitor and he assuming you playing games at 2k...but you said most people don't play games at native resolution. I have 1440p monitor and I play games at 1440p.

You can rebut him saying you cannot play games at 1080p meh with 2k monitor but you cannot say most people play games at lower resolution. Most people I know play at native resolution and why bring in 4k...dudz

Your post saying most people playing games and lower than monitor native resolution is nonsense...
