For my device, what I've noticed is that when I haven't been using my phone for awhile, it lags to unlock . It's not always, but when it happens I noticed it's probably because it's been inactive for a few hours straight.

Having said that, I've only encountered it once when I tried to unlock my phone when I woke up in the morning. Other than that one occasion, sleeping beauty mostly happened in the daytime for me after long hours of inactivity.

Btw guys, those who are experiencing the sleeping issue, a are you guys using Knox? Rooted? Having the "lock phone immediately when screen is off" option turned on?

Read the news from HWZ news.
This exact problem is happening on my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ as well.
Happens at random times but usually after long hours of inactivity or... after I use the Samsung 'Smart Manager' app to clear the RAM usage.

I turned off volte under call setting and am not having the sleeping beauty problem for 2 days. Do need more note 5 owners to try and confirm. Use to get the wake lag 3 to 5 times a day.

If Samsung don't come with fix, we do another poll and ask "Will you buy another Samsung phone again?"

I think that will get their attention.

Mine even better,Just brought back my Note 5 from SamCrap service centre for the fixing and handed over the check list by the engineer that has performed on my phone which I've doubt over the thorough check. Apparently I was right, within a week later now my phone turned on and stuck without me able to do anything..

1. Power Off button for 1 minutes
2. Power Off + Home button for 1 minutes
3. Remove the Batt.. Oh waitt no more removable battery.

Anyone experiencing the lag is using the Samsung's Weather Widget on home screen/lock screen? I felt it might be due to that GPS auto detect location setting. Cause sometimes when I unlock the screen, I think the widget tries to reload.

I've turned off that setting and since then haven't got the sleeping problem for about 6 hours. Update again tomorrow.

Try this?

ll Galaxy Note 5 or S6 Edge Plus owners need to do is press down and hold the power button, and the volume down key at the same time, and hold them both down simultaneously for 7-10 seconds.

Wow, You are a lifesaver. It's works, Still I'm not sure if I should bring this to the service center or not. May I know where'd u get that source of fix? is this a common problem?

Edit : Never mind, I didn't read properly when i searched it using google. But nevertheless I'm still wondering if this a common issue as well

U got 1 year so just monitor, freezing sometimes caused by bugs is unavoidable, bring it down also no use cos it could be certain apps doing it unless u r experiencing it often even after factory reset. Cos now no microSD card so more or less those are rule out, anything wrong not software related is definitely Samsung's problem. Sometimes cannot everything blame Samsung, could be Google's fault or Singtel apps fault, never know.

Since nowadays cannot take out battery, there must be a way to reset your phone like iPhone. For all you know, that info is in the manual which all of us can't be arse to read haha.
