My phone is a launch day set, gold 64gb. I reset my phone and resinstalled my apps one at a time since day 1. The sleeping problem came a few days later. On the 2nd firmware update, I cleared my cache, reset and reinstalled everything again. Problem came back a few days later.

I have tried:
- Hard reseting and reinstalling
- Deleting my cache partition
- Disabling S voice
- Turning off off-screen memo

Nothing works. And it's not due to my fingers touching the screen when I turn it on either.

What I notice is that the problem seems to happen whenever I move around. The wifi on my set seems to be rather flaky - there are times when it just couldn't connect to any of my base stations despite seeing the SSIDs, and I had to turn off Wifi and turn it on again before it could grab the signal. So now I'm suspecting it could be a connectivity issue with the set trying to wake up the wifi whenever we turn on the set.

This is really shitty. We shouldn't be troubleshooting on behalf of Samsung.

Strange.. my 64gb titanium no wifi issue too.. hmm..

Hmmm the WIFI issue is not isolated to Note 5, my Note 3 has this issue too. Sometimes connected already suddenly not connected and yet the SSID is showing but this case seldom happen. Overall, this is not an issue enough to bother me since over 90% of the time it's fine. But i do feel the WIFI signal like a bit weak and i check my router and i'm connected to 5Ghz. Is there a way to choose which one i wanna connect to?

gold 64gb, so far so good after using for 8 days.

The only thing bother me is cannot edit immediately after a screen shot. Why Lollipop remove this useful function. :(

I am also having it on my few days old Note 5. It seems to be an issue with the kernel managing deep sleep. It is annoying to the point even my camera opens then closes back to locked screen. Hope Samsung fixes this. Seems to be that the core maybe severely downclocked and not ramping up enough clockspeed or activating the other cores on screen on.

FYI, Fingerprint or any other lock mode exhibits this problem but on Fingerprint the issue seems more frequent. Wiping cache also does not work. It sometimes even freezes after a while clearing wipe cache.

Hope they fix it. Its super annoying.

I have a feeling it has something to do with wi-fi..have been experimenting the past two days without turning on my wifi, and never faced the sleeping beauty issue. Going to continue to observe without wifi turned on, and if everything still works, I will turn on wifi over the weekend and see if the issue happens again.

I still face the wake up lag when my wifi is off for more than 12 hrs.

"Hopefully"...by Samsung standard is end of Dec...:s22::s22::s22:

I cannot even replicate the issue constantly. I think it is going to be hard for Samsung's dev team too. Can only hope they knew what is the problem. Only when problem is identified then there will be a fix. :)

That is the problem.

As of now, we are not sure what is causing this sleeping problem.

Almost all the suggestions given here (clearing cache, reboot, Wifi off, weather notification off, etc etc etc) do not work to resolve the issue...it is difficult to pin-point what is the culprit, let alone find a solution to it...

Maybe Marshmallow coming out next month one then now kenna this, delay by 6 months :p But i rather they take their time to find out. I hope they can't find out but realize it doesn't exist in stock Android so next firmware is near stock except camera and Note integration :D
