That's true. If a strong WP team was there, they could have won.

I am surprised by WP EC team getting 41%. It is a pretty good result from a team considered to be the weakest that WP have fielded this GE.

I suspect there are many traitors among the oppies supporters and the oppies IBs. Every GE is the same, that's why I keep laughing whenever I see post like sky is blue, change sky, ground is sweet

I find this result hard to believe. There's a PAP wave across the board and PAP wins so many constituencies in landslides but somehow the WP improves their vote share in all their constituencies and comes very close to winning Tampines GRC and Jalan Kayu SMC?!

Dr Chee getting his best result in all his years of contesting elections while every other SDP candidate and all PSP teams get crushed?

Somehow only the WP and Dr Chee were able to mount a real challenge against the PAP in a pro-PAP wave year...

Now it will be a PAP-WP parliament again with no other alternative voices.

Yes precisely. But I believe voters are more discerning now, wouldn't randomly vote for those mosquito parties. They r lucky to be able to get back their deposits.

I read the numbers as hardcore opposition supporters 20%.
When opposition is WP +20%.
Hardcore PAP supporters 40%.

Sitting on the fence 20%, which will decide the outcome.

I agree with this, but then the voice of the opposition online has created a facade of what actually happened at the polls. I was taken aback by the vote swing towards the PAP as well; indirectly caused by the online sentiments.
