Same strategy as me. As long as the ETF or REIT don't get delisted, they have the mandate to pay out dividends. I treat them as some form of bank FD with the key difference capital is not guaranteed. But since those monies I put in I am prepared to get back zero dollars it is ok. I am gambling this amount of monies I put in I get better rate than bank FD, T-Bill, SSB.
And yes since this is a non-guaranteed investment instrument, the total amount percentage I allocate to it is much lesser to what I allocate to bank FD, T-Bill, SSB. REIT ETF minimum is 1 unit. REIT stock minimum is 100 unit. These low minimum allow me to execute my strategy slowly.
