As i'm setting off at 7pm, don't fancy the idea of getting lost at KL.
From Singapore to Kl quite straightfoward long straight stretch of road, just not very confident after exiting the last toll.

genting 2014(nightmare making)

Dear friends..

latest info from my friend tht when up on 17-19 March 2014.

bus/coach do not go up to 1st world hotel bus terminal for the period of 2 years frm now.

All buses will drop passengers down at mushroom farm.temporary counters are all there.

passengers need to hand carry their belonging to board feerer bus frm mushrooms farm to 1st world.

duration accordingly to my friend abt 20-30mins.

Nightmare as per my friend.

when reach , all ppl are blur as per new arrangemnt.
everybody rush to bus ( only 1). Poor old aunty uncle hand carryin their luggage all tryin to board bus.

no genting staff assisting. raining that day, floor wet. ppl pushing ppl. some fell n fall.

As per my friend, its so sad to see this.

When up genting finally, alot of connection close due to renovation.

ggoin up from 1st world to highland hotel is more troublsme as compare before.

As my friend is gg on a Monday(off peak).
He cannt imagine if is a peak period.
He advise ppl LEAVING genting bk Singapore.
Go down early to wait for yr bus, cs nw u have to catch feeder bus down Mushroom farm area.

its not convient anymore ggg up genting anymore.

Ps. : according to my friend. the managemnt doesnt seems bother by this stupid arrangment. transportation to n fro doesnt seem to be their matters.its v tedious nw juz to reach hotel esp. the transfer n to squeeze with ppl catching the feeder bus..

Chaotic? Non-communication? Welcone to Boleh Land. Things has always been done this way there.

When we booked our coach tickets last week, the coach company here already informed us the coach will stop at mushroom farm, not outside FWH lobby like previously, as the Genting mgmt put a stop to that within the first few days.

Instead of taking the free feeder bus, you can spend RM10 or RM20 to take cab (ride is only 3 mins). Or u can walk..no big deal unless u are old uncle or auntie.

Earlier, I was also blur like sotong about the new arrangements on the first day, but managed to find out the details when i went down to check things out with a croupier whom I made frens with. I remember posting the info in this forum.

When in Boleh Land, you have to adopt the Malaysian do-it-yourself attitude. No one is going to spoon feed u anything there. Network, make friends, and enjoy yourself.

No need GPS, i went once and remember the way (for my several trips) =>

Just remember the key points:

After Sungei Besi toll, look for Cheras sign (approx 1km away bah? Turn left and follow Cheras Kuantan) until you see Genting Highlands exit then you climb the mountain

Genting back, look for KL signage and follow, keyword is Seramban then you will find NSH then all the way back to SG

gg to enquire the rate n confirm they drop off to n fro frm resort hotel.

btw, i heard from my friends tht went up last 2 weeks, alot of passage walkway block n had to divert... is it true??

No problem. Just return on Sat nite from Genting. Rate wise is probably the most exp across all categories of coaches to Genting (around 100-120). Not complaining though as their services is good (in my opinion) and we don't need to stop at Yong Peng for break (as meal is provided on board).

Yes, Eg. the path leading from rh to fwh is demolished to make way for the renovation of the theme park i think.

Driving up for the first time end april. Plan to set off about 7pm fri night via 2nd link.

Any bros can share anywhere to eat after 2nd link? Hopefully not so ulu hence safer. Also, any other advice for the drive? Things to look out for and etc. Safety issues and likes. Also would 1 full tank on a 60l tank survive 1 way?
