No need GPS, i went once and remember the way (for my several trips) =>

Just remember the key points:

After Sungei Besi toll, look for Cheras sign (approx 1km away bah? Turn left and follow Cheras Kuantan) until you see Genting Highlands exit then you climb the mountain

Genting back, look for KL signage and follow, keyword is Seramban then you will find NSH then all the way back to SG

Nice just noticed this post. Where is this Sungei Besi toll? Just before KL?

Yup...jus before KL and be aware, along the 90KM/J road before a overhead bridge there is a newly installed speed cam....just got back last week on 19 March...weather was rainy and foggy...but the feeling was great.... Those taking bus at 1st world hotel lobby, the situation there was a mess.....

Dear friends..

latest info from my friend tht when up on 17-19 March 2014.

bus/coach do not go up to 1st world hotel bus terminal for the period of 2 years frm now.

All buses will drop passengers down at mushroom farm.temporary counters are all there.

passengers need to hand carry their belonging to board feerer bus frm mushrooms farm to 1st world.

duration accordingly to my friend abt 20-30mins.

Nightmare as per my friend.

when reach , all ppl are blur as per new arrangemnt.
everybody rush to bus ( only 1). Poor old aunty uncle hand carryin their luggage all tryin to board bus.

no genting staff assisting. raining that day, floor wet. ppl pushing ppl. some fell n fall.

As per my friend, its so sad to see this.

When up genting finally, alot of connection close due to renovation.

ggoin up from 1st world to highland hotel is more troublsme as compare before.

As my friend is gg on a Monday(off peak).
He cannt imagine if is a peak period.
He advise ppl LEAVING genting bk Singapore.
Go down early to wait for yr bus, cs nw u have to catch feeder bus down Mushroom farm area.

its not convient anymore ggg up genting anymore.

Dear friends...do take note.

Ps. : according to my friend. the managemnt doesnt seems bother by this stupid arrangment. transportation to n fro doesnt seem to be their matters.its v tedious nw juz to reach hotel esp. the transfer n to squeeze with ppl catching the feeder bus..
its chaotic...

Indeed...the lobby at 1st world hotel (Bus bay) was in total chaos. Moving in between hotels is as normal to me. Bus alight at mushroom farm temp bus terminal and the place was very run down. Getning should have stand by bus service there all time or tour bus to go all the way up..... It was indeed foggy, rainy, cold and windy from 16 - 18 March, on 19 march, weather condition improved.....

Noted about the speed cam! Whats the usual speed limit along the way anyway? Apologies for noob but it's the first time Im planning to drive up. Usually bus or flight to KL.

Hey folks.

Driving up for the first time end april. Plan to set off about 7pm fri night via 2nd link.

Any bros can share anywhere to eat after 2nd link? Hopefully not so ulu hence safer. Also, any other advice for the drive? Things to look out for and etc. Safety issues and likes. Also would 1 full tank on a 60l tank survive 1 way?

I suggest you eat first in Singapore, arbo can try those big R&R (A&W or KFC) or even the famous Gelang Patah Seafood , or Raffles Marina?

Just drive relax relax, but i dont like to climb genting at night. so usually i set off at 4-5am from singapore, will reach genting at 9am. speed wise, just somewhere you are comfortable with bah. dont have to chiong all the way lah. take toilet breaks in btw, or even a macdonald snack break after sungei besi toll (Shell station).

usually for me (no power car), when climbing Genting the up slopes, i off a/c and usually down slopes, on air-con , engage low gear for engine brakes... dont keep spam ur foot brakes until it gets heat uppppp. 60L, should be able to reach genting lah, can pump at genting is petrol is low. :)

I think Genting is stealing from us. Exchange 1GP for RM1 with conditions. Cost us at least RM11 per GP if you know the trick. Otherwise the sky is the limit, RM 25, 100, etc. Better to spend on rooms ( during promotion) or meals or skyway.

speed generally is 110km/h...only last stretch is 90km/h...see signage.... keep left and overtake then use right lane...beware of fast car.... some are really fast
