I tried the Ribeye at airport Aston's.. Ask for medium rare it came somewhere between medium and medium well >.>

Will try ordering rare next time :s13:

sadly the standards for Aston's have dropped terribly

I still remember going to the Aston's at east coast road, still had standard

yeah! the same thing happened to me!
But I feel that Ashton's steaks doesn't have that much taste or natural juicy flavour compared to others, but I'm not complaining cuz of the prices xD
Unless anyone else knows of other places that have better and cheap steak.

Yeah.. Only cause of value then I go huan..

Aston's standard dropped, but in terms of value for money, it's still one of the better ones.

After twice in a row Aston's at Changi fugg up my steak, I don't dare order steak with them anymore. Go aston's either eat any of the chicken or sausage dishes.

To me the price in Aston for steak not worth it. I rather buy meat from Mmmmm and pan sear at home, taste even better.

Astons quality fluctuates. I always order medium rare. Sometimes i get what i ordered, sometimes i get medium well. My guess is the chef isnt familiar with how to get the right doneness.

It is one thing to be able to cook a steak or two easily at home. It takes a trained chef to cook simultaneous orders of 10-20 steaks in the correct requested doneness. Memory is very important, need to know the timings, when to turn 90 degrees for the cross grill marks, when to flip over, ehen to remove and rest.

If go to Aston during peak hours, mistakes are bound to happen. Turnover is very high amongst kitchen crew.

Agreed but thats why they are pros & we are not. We expect a certain standard when we go to a restaurant. If it was a $7 steak at a hawker however i will not expect that much.

IMO the quality of the food between Aston's and those hawker centre stalls like "Char-grill bar" are the same.

aston ones i tried before...not nice at all but definitely value for money.

Vines seafood and steak closed a couple of months ago as the place got en bloc. They have a sister restaurant though.
