I actually love it. It forces those who buy Nexus to grow a pair and root it. :D

Even simpler way to switch from Yakjuxw to Yakju (No rooting required!)

Hi, I'm not sure if this has been posted here but i stumbled on this thread on XDA-developers on how to switch from Yakjuxw to Yakju to get OTA 4.1.1. Best part is, no rooting, bootloader required! Much simpler than using PDANet+NexusToolKit method. It worked for my local nexus handset.

Flash Galaxy Nexus Yakjuxw to Yakju to get OTA 4.1.1 - xda-developers

I'm not sure about the local warranty since Samsung can check the versions of the phone when they perform repairs. But this method is really zippy and fuss-free to perform. My phone version jumped from 4.0.1>4.0.2>4.0.4>4.1.1 in a manner of minutes after flashing with the Yakju firmware.

@goteckwah
u followed this guide arh? Flash Galaxy Nexus Yakjuxw to Yakju to get OTA 4.1.1 - xda-developers

Yup. I followed the steps described in that thread. No problems whatsoever. But there were some weird error regarding incompatible Bluetooth driver installation. But after I restart Windows and start up the firmware program, everything went well after that. Computer was able to detect my nexus and I could proceed with the flashing.

Hi. I wasn't even considering nexus when I recontracted my mobile plan and got a HTC One X instead. It was only after I realised what Jelly Bean brought to ICS which made me changed my mind. The main reason is I can get software upgrades the moment google releases it. HTC (and maybe other oem manufacturers like Sony and Samsung) usually dragged their feets when it comes to software upgrading. I got impatient and thus picked up a nexus without contract. And I'm really happy with it so far after I upgraded to Jelly Bean. The new google voice search is much faster and accurate than I thought. It could even pronounce local street names when I did a weather search. But one thing lacking is the screen quality. It just cannot compare against HTC One X. It looks dimmer, colours not as accurate and there is always a blue overcast over white.. But the nexus sure feels a lot faster than that quad-core CPU in One X. Seriously, you cannot trust benchmarks like Quadrant to measure a phone's usability. Ther software plays a major role in the whole experience.

yap uninstalled all the stupid pre-existed driver and followed the steps in the thread, now upgrading to jelly bean as i am typing this haha..

I strongly recommend to get Nexus if you
- want latest android software directly from google
- wana enjoy the ultimate google android software experience
- are into custom ROM and stuff ( the beauty of android)

Get some other phone like S3 if you :
- dont really care about which software version you use
- want best hardware but not software experience
- if you are rich ( nexus is $68 = $98-$30(order online $30off in singtel for 3g flexi value $59 plan)

if you find s3 good looking, consider buying it, it has good battery life,
as for htc one x, my friend having sensor issues, if u cover the front camera sensor side with ur finger, the screen will turn off..
