Did anyone manage to install the kindle app?
I got an apk and tried but after installing it kept crashing.
It works on my wife's Note 2 though.

i am also still thinking whether to gamble to get in US but scare of breakdown within a year then need to send for service...

Other than the charging adaptor which comes in the round two-pin instead of the flat two-pin, I don't think there is other obvious ways to tell from the info u can get from the tablet itself.

Suppose that Asus SG will charge you for servicing your US Nexus.

Then I feel that you should gamble to get a US set if you do not mind sending your set back to the US for repairs when there is a defect within 1 year. Given that the US set is much cheaper than the SG set, shipping fee will not be too much of a problem. The problem will only be the duration of when will you receive back your repaired nexus considering the shipping time from SG to US to SG and the repair time needed. If you are willing to wait then by all means go US set, it is soo much cheaper.

My Nexus 7 bought directly from Google USA I have successfully claim a new replacement set from JB Asus Service Center. Several.of us Malaysia users who bought from USA had also claim free warranty from Asus Kl service centers including changing speakers n motherboard

I just send it in. no need even to show proof of purchase. The counter staff just need to key in serial number to verify tablet is authentic
And best of all my tablet rooted n with custom recovery. The tablet kept booting to CWM n cannot reboot to the Os. Using hard buttons also cannot get it into fastboot mode. I was told motherboard need replacement n will be free even tablet is rooted. Was told need to wait 3 weeks for motherboard n before I left I reconfirm is free of charge. 3 weeks later I got a call to collect a new sealed replacement set as the tech screwup changing the motherboard n I need to bring the original box n it's accessories to change to a new set. And I did get a brand new sealed set from Asus.

Gosh everybody can send their nexus 7 for repair only mine was charged is it due to different staff was briefed differently ?
