Just bought an OTG cable from a bro in hwz and connected my Nexus 7 directly to my Olympus Pen E PL3 camera. I was able to view the photos I took, stored in the SD card! Took a video clip using the same camera and I was able to play the video too! :s12:

Now I can view pics on larger screen after taking the photos in my camera.

I had to download Nexus Media Importer from Google play store to make it all work. Nexus Media importer cost less than $5 and most impt no rooting required. The OTG cable also worked with all my thumb drives and external hard drives where I played videos, browsed photos and played music as well :)

Can store videos on hard drive and use nexus to watch.

People always get the misconception that google wallet needs US credit card.

No such thing. As long as there is a valid credit card with a valid billing address, they will charge accordingly to whatever user wanna buy.

Very noob qns. Easiest way to tell the difference between a 32gb wifi and a 32gb 3g just by looking at the box is the symbol 32GB / a wifi symbol / a symbol that looks like ur mobile reception symbol.
This would be a 3g set right?

Apologized again for the noob qns

Another way is to see the device itself, there will be a SIM card slot on the left side of the device. With a pin hole and a microphone hole.

From box you can only see A wifi symbol, and a Mobile Signal.

See the serial sticker also. They should indicate that is a 3G set.

When I click on Google Wallet icon, I get a message
"Unfortunately, Google Wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile network"

Not the app, the website. The app is useless for us, used for NFC transaction. But buying apps from Store requires a registered card under Google Wallet, which u can add ur card to when log into ur Gmail account on ur android device or via the Google Wallet site.

Just to add, I tested the OTG cable with a SD card reader and it worked as well, I was able to view pictures from the Nexus Media Importer app. I didnt test music or video as I didnt have any stored on the SD card.

Anywhere in Sg to buy the standard charger for the Nexus 7? Thinking of keeping one in the office and one at home

I have the dock but its still unopened as I'd hate to remove the tablet from the casing each time I wanna charge it...:o

I had a problem with battery drain previously. I discovered that the problem was from apps running in the background. So i turned most of them off manually. To do this:

Go to settings, tap on Apps, swipe to "running apps" and shut those apps u do not need. I found google play/services to be the main culprit, draining up to 30% battery consumption.

Screen brightness also affects the battery drain. Mine is usually turned down to the lowest and I crank it up when I am outdoors.

Lastly but most effective for me was airplane mode when I am not usin the tablet. By far this is the single most effective protection against battery drain for me.

To check what is draining your batteries, open settings, tap "Battery". It would show you what is eating your batteries.

Good luck.

Mine's 16gb wifi. (Airplane mode)Standby time would usually last a few days to a week. Normal usage such as surfing, youtube vids usually last me over a day (not continuously usage of course!)

If I play graphic intensive games such as Real Racing, the battery would drain in a matter of hrs. 3-4 hrs of continuous playtime and the low batt warning would come on.
