If rooted, can install stickmount for free.

That's right. The app is called nexus media importer downloadable at play store but need to pay.

Better then 4.2.2 I feel if your set is lagging I recommend you do a factory reset

I dun even have to restart and the OTA update notification is there. Dunno is it a placebo effect but it seems to make the tablet smoother now

JB 4.3 is faster and smoother (especially so on my N4). As the reviewers said, it's project butter 2 implemented!

Try this:

1. Go to Setting > Apps, then scroll right to the 'All' tab at the top
2. Scroll down to Google Services Framework and select it
3. Hit the 'Clear data' button
4. Go to Settings > About tablet > System updates (you will notice the date will be 1969 or 1970, this is ok )
5. Hit the 'Check now' button
