im sad to say that 4.3 do not solve, the storage issues... i stress tested it till left 300mb left in memory the entire system will still lag down significantly. no use after freeing up the space had to reset.

I used to use until left less than 1gb last time. Now I rather not make myself suffer. Clear all games, left more than 10gb constantly. :(

The TRIM does not take effect immediately.

Even on SSDs, unless the manufacturers provide a tool to activate it, TRIM will only run during when device is idle.

" I’ve learned a bit more on the conditions underlying when Android 4.3 will TRIM filesystems, as it wasn’t completely clear before. The Android framework will send out a “start idle maintenance window” event that the MountService listens for, and then invokes vold to fstrim filesystems when a few conditions have been met – the device hasn’t been touched for over an hour, no idle maintenance window event has been sent in 24 hours, and the device is either off-charger with 80% battery or on-charger with 30% battery. The goal is to have fstrim run roughly once every 24 hours if you’re in the habit of plugging the device in to charge every night. "

Unfortunately, this is a minor con for using NAND technology.

There is also an "unofficial" recommendation to leave 7%-10% of SSD storage to allow it to maintain/regulate its performance.

Anyone using QVOD player (快播) on their Nexus 7? It used to work perfectly fine before the 4.3 update. After the update, the player could no longer play. I had wanted to reinstall but noted that in PLAY, it is no longer compatible with Nexus 7. What had happened?

Most likely, the app has not yet been updated to support 4.3 - nothing to do with the nexus hardware

Nexus 7 screen cracked

My Nexus 7 screen cracked a while after I stopped using it and left it on my table. Brought it to the svc centre and they refuse to fix it unless I pay $220 for a new screen (wth). I saw that this was a common problem a lot of Nexus 7 users face...

Bought it back in Feb and only used until Apr. Anyone knows where that allows for cash trade-in of the nexus 7? Was thinking of topping it up to buy something else, maybe an iPod

I have upgraded my Nexus 7 16gig to android 4.3 this morning and I cannot play video files volumn > 50% via headphone. Max volumn is 50% only. I am using BS Player free app. I do not have such issue for android 4.2.x .

Anyone has the same issue as me?

That is crazy pricing. You shd be able to get much better pricing from SL repair shops but it will prob invalidate yr warranty

Edit: Just came across this post by a guy called Anthony Tiong in the Asus Malaysia facebook page and he had the cracked screen prob too!

Nexus 7 which fail to show 3G is due to APN settings. Most of the Nexus 7 3G devices should be able to detect and prompt 3G network automatically, however, only a small portion would have to manually set APN settings in order to detect the 3G network.

You should be able to find your provider settings through >> here <<

I found this but there is a sentence I don't quite understand "MMSC: [refer to URL in title]" what does this mean?

I manage to resolve the issue.

Go to Home screen when all icons hide. Click on the volumn button (up or down) and it will show you 50% max volumn. No matter how you increase, it will stay 50% max. Click on the settings logo, it will prompt you that increase volumn will damage your ears, select OK to continue. Increase your sound to Maximium. Then the sound issue is resolved.
