Just got auto update today to 4.4.2. Feel faster and smoother but MX
Player not working. Other than that all normal.

wah sian. I am using mx player watch videos everyday de. If thats the case, I think I will wait for the updates to mx player released le, then upgrade to 4.2.2... :p

upgraded to kit kat and my sopcast cannot work..anyone else experience that?

PS all Nexus 7 users - its a must to download 2 stuffs and keep on your PC.

1. Firmwares - In-case you needs to re-flash or your Nexus suddenly become sick. :), can search on Google for Nexus 7 developer website. Its available there. all versions. Or you can use the link in the Toolkit software below. Its built in. One click to developer's webpage to download from Kitkat back to earlier releases. BUT make sure you get the correct one. IE. WIFI only or Mobile..etc etc...

2. Nexus Root toolkit. - You may not want to root your Nexus 7. Its not just for rooting. It can help you flash Firmware (or some call it - ROM) as well when needed. Very easy to use. It can help you get your Bricked Nexus 7 back working again. Than you will :) again.

Its good to have them as stand by - a tool in need is a useful tool indeed case during those time of needs. It save you misery arises from unexpected situation where your tablet just Ki-siow. It can happen to any one also anytime. So its good to have this easy to use - mostly one click auto carry on tool.

is it still worthwhile to get a nexus 7?

been thinking of getting a 2nd hand set, but warranty is a big issue(I'm not familiar with nexus reliability and I heard asus charge 60 for inspection alone)

there's also the issue of future support and firmware updates now that the 2013 model is out

or should I wait for the 2013 model price to fall?

also does the nexus series come with intl warranty?
coz I see alot of amazon set(2013) around in the bazaar

dear all,

I have 1 nexus 7 1st gen, suddenly died. Cant power on. I tried plug in charger, then take out battery, and put back. But still can't power on.

this set was bought from google USA. It is out of warranty. Can I send it for servicing in asus Singapore? Maybe there is some bros here have same exp with me and willing to share. Thanks in advance

I had the exact same problem. Just sent to the Asus service centre. Still waiting for their assessment.

I had it once although i never take out battery since it's non-removable. But i have to charge it like 30mins then take out the cable and then put it back in again before i see the battery charge icon. I think cos i left the battery drained for like 1 week or so. But do update us.

Besides the performance which is so so, i haven't had too pleasant experience with this N7 made by Asus since day 1.
