Google pay suddenly stopped functioning when all setting unchanged

Recently my redmi k20 pro also got problem with google pay. Suddenly become very slow, last time when tap immediately detected. Now I have to put my phone at the scanner for 4-5s then it will appear. Tried paying for stuff just now, had to tap twice cuz first time error.

happened to me last week too, exactly like yours, can pay at ntuc, but didnt work on bus & mrt.

need to clear data and uninstall update of "google play services" in setting>app>manage apps. then also clear data for google pay app & reauth the card. been working fine for me so far

this GPay issue not only affects GPay, even Dash also cannot work, says Invalid card or something like that. Going to try Amex Pay later today when going home..

I am using poco F3 and I found a workaround. My google play service version is 21.12.13. with the latest gpay apps. I can use nfc to pay for shop purchase but not for public transport like mrt.

I found a temporary solution.
1) Uninstalled gpay singapore apps.
2) installed the older Google pay apps version 2.129.364916235 and setup your card.
With step 1 & 2, I can use for both shop purchase and mrt/transit.

Sidenote: when you open the google pay apps. it prompt you to download the "newer" gpay. Don't download.
I discover if both gpay apps and the google pay coexist on my phone. I can only pay shop purchase but NOT for mrt transit.

by the way, just updated my poco f3 to latest MIUI 12.0.3 and google play service is auto v21.02, no option to downgrade to v20 anymore. will try and report back here.

Amex Pay also doesn't work for MRT.. this stupid GPS really screwed up transport payments for multiple apps

You can download previous versions of Google Play Services on ApkMirror. Make sure to pick the right variant for your phone.

The latest confirmed working version is 21.09.15. Versions 21.12.13 and 21.15.13 are no go. I haven't yet to try 21.15.14 which was released earlier today yet.

Just an update.
I had updated my poco f3 to lastest miui 12.03. My google play service remain as 21.12.13

Using the older google pay apps 2.129.364916235.

Transit and shop payment is still working fine.

I tried downloading the latest gpay apps
. Transit failed. Uninstalled it to revert back old google pay version.
