Only one of my 2 shipment arrived from espresso coffee shop. The other shipment went to USA before coming to me. Knn now covid, human cannot travel but goods can.

Only receive my rocket knock box, tamping station and Faustino. Still waiting for Appartamento Nera.

Air routes are massively disrupted. My coffee accessories shipment is stuck in Ireland (and can't get out), due to suspension of flights inbound into Singapore :s22:

Patience...

Yes. the red brick has very consistent quality. The candy shop is interesting but harder to brew.

Their standard is comparable to nylon. but nylon may be more interesting because of their single origins.

shipping is also quite regular pre-covid.

Hmm, sounds good I will try then. It's about 17 SGD per 250g with shipping in which is reasonable if good quality. I can only finish 250g in a month; hence 1kg is too much to take.

James Hoffman is quite a good YouTuber too.

Anyone used the Taobao version of the Nanopresso before? was wondering whether this is good enough for making Espresso, or any other suggestions?

https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.1.51857199ZdZBlJ&id=605769096778&ns=1&abbucket=8

Never tried this before, but I have the Nanopresso. It sorta works (with some type of crema coming out)? But you can never beat this w/ espresso from a proper machine. The pressure might be there but it's hard to replicate the output consistency.

There is an option to use the Nanopresso in un-pressurised mode, but never got to it.

Yup honest and direct. Anette Moldvaer is the green coffee buyer for squaremile coffee. Wrote a good book on coffees beans from around the world - Coffee Obsession, can check it out on amazon.

I recommend being patient with their coffees. Use a 20g vst with perfect distribution technique. the brew recipe usually recommends a higher temperature, usually 1:2 ratio.

Let their coffee rest for 10-14 days post roast before brewing. get some air into the bag when you first get it. then leave it for 10-14 days post roast before brewing.

Red brick is the more mellow and agreeable blend. Candyshop is interesting but can be very bright and needs some time to rest to tame it.

250g in a month? 1 day 1 single shot of espresso?

Good news for those thinking of ordering from espressocoffeeshop.

Apparently the shipping fee include gst already. I didn’t have to pay any when my shipment arrived.

After 2 years of deliberation, finally jump the gun and bought my first real espresso machine and also upgrade my grinder. Didn't go for zero retention grinder as I'm not so discerning in taste. I drink milk base 100% of the time.

It's shipping to me now from Italy. Bought from Espresso Coffee Shop. Should receive my next Monday.

Bought these:
Rocket Appartamento Nera
Rocket Faustino

Upgraded from stupid appliance that don't let me do much.
Delonghi Dedica 680
Breville Smart Grinder Pro

hi there, i'm looking at the exact setup. any particular reason(s) why u chose to get it online instead of locally? (other than the price lol)

Usually the GST you must pay to the shipper when u collect. If the online shop declare more than S$400 sure must pay. Unless under declared.

Posted from PCWX using ALP-L29

Only a matter of time before the urge to upgrade.

Nice stuff! My wife and I prefer drip coffee, thankfully equipment wise is a lot cheaper (moccamaster + baratza virtuos+):

Tip is don’t save on the grinder, makes the most difference after the beans

Very nice setup! We need pics of your shots too!
Also I notice a bottle of syrup at the back. What are you adding to your shots, do share!

Ha ha ok I try to take pictures after I change beans. My current beans from some roastery in Taiwan, gift from friend but stale liao. But I still drink cos I drink milk base. Just tahan.

Background is monin chocolate sauce for hot chocolate and mocha. My opinion is buy the da vinci chocolate sauce. Cheaper and taste nicer.

Best is torani sauce but hard to buy bulk bottle in Singapore so I give up.

Oh for hot chocolate!
I rarely drink hot chocolate but when I do, I'll cut up some dark chocolate bar(I use Cadbury's 70% dark) into little pieces, put them into a mug/latte cup, and put it on top of the espresso machine. The heat will melt the chocolate. Then steam your milk, pour into the cup and keep stirring until the chocolate is incorporated with the milk.
