I'm a Latte/Flat white person looking to get my first espresso machine. I have done some research and have narrowed down to 2 options:

1 - Breville Barista Pro

2 - Breville Bambino + Baratza Encore ESP

Option 2 is cheaper and allows me to upgrade the grinder if I want but I really like the all-in-one format of the Barista Pro and how it looks.. What do you guys think?
Two-in-one coffee machines are a bad idea

The heat that transfers to the hopper will quickly destroy the coffee. :(
Never go for pressurised portafilters, those are for masking bad extractions. :(

With either option I will swap out for single hopper dosing..

And of course will swap out to an IMS basket instead of using pressurised one for either of the choices.

Yes separate is always wiser.

I suggest pay abit more go for heat exchange boiler straight rather than keep upgrading, especially if you are planning to make milk drinks.

I've two colleagues/friends who went one big round buying some
Breville or delonghi don't know what then upgrade to rocket and bezzera in a year. Even the coffee taste side by side is totally different and it's alot easier.

Get something with a solid construction using thick metal inside outside :o

how many grams do you drink per day :s14:
eh.. lets see ya..
18g per cup.

Morning Mr & Mrs x 2
Afternoon Mrs x 1
Evening Mr x 1

4 x 18g = 72g per day
1000 / 72 = 13.8 days
3kg x 13.8 day = 41.6 days

Not including occasionally frds or relative pop by.

U drink 3kg of coffee yourself?

You perfect the recipe already? Drinking latte or in black?

I don't drink much latte but trying to perfect with this lighter roast. Had been using darker roast like Arcaffè Margo and Gorgona. :o
not sure if perfect but fit my taste bud.

Im a latte guy.

niche zero
grind size 19

breville dual boiler
pre-infusion 7sec
from start to end 30sec (include pre-infusion) = 36-39g
milk 170g +-

That's about 40 to 45ml in an 8 oz cup I guess.

I'm very bad in lattes because I drink mostly caps and espresso these days.

Later will go try. :o

eh.. dont understand lol..
my usually latte ard 200ml to 210ml..
my cup is 220ml to the brim..

So base on my ratio 36g + 170g = 210 +-.. sometime milk froth fail = too much foam. 😅 😅

36g is about the same as 40ml.

I'm not sure 170g of milk is how many ml though. Assume is 1g to 1ml, yes it's 210ml.

pretty sure i posted here, not sure where it went.. but...

i bought philips ep2230 automatic espresso machine 3 months ago
YSTSH2O.jpg

the carafe developed cracks and philips service centre does not provide warranty, stating it is consumables, wear and tear.

it is absurd, how is it even a consumable baffles me. so i would definitely not recommend anyone to get philips product.

El Tambor is good. It's light, not bitter yet not acidic. This type of balance is not easy to find these days. Very easy to drink. Very neat and smooth. I downed many cups unknowingly, very dangerous. :(

La Cumbre has a very nice body and well defined fruity notes. Very rich and pronounced flavours.

I pull 1:2 ratio

I think la Cumbre could be even better if I pull it abit longer but i the beans ran out before I could investigate further. :o

Hi I just started to explore on making my own espresso. Right now using a automatic drip brewer to make coffee and was thinking of getting the Jura E8 at first for 2.3k at gain city expo sale but found that using a separate grinder and a espresso machine is cheaper.

should I get a bambino plus from Lazada and a eureka silenzo from ECS? Or a Silva X Pro and the eureka silenzo from ECS for 2.3-2.4K. Saw the Silva pro x selling for 2.6-2.7k on Lazada or Shopee. ECS price seems very nice but scared DOA or faulty.

pre-infusion 7s is default right? how much pressure do you get when you extract 40g in 30seconds? did you do the slayer mod?

Getting a separate grinder is not only cheaper. Is better in every sense in term of quality and cost of owning in the long run. :o

Coffee machines are like cars, you will definitely need regular servicing. I don't buy expensive and heavy equipment from overseas. If it's a $2000 Mauviel pan set that can't go wrong, maybe still can consider. :o

Tks for replying , think I will be getting a bambino plus and a DF 64 grinder over the eureka because saw online that eureka got small knob and need to dial or beans getting stuck when changing different type of beans.

Will be getting on Shopee/ Lazada plus some accessories like the. Bottomless portafilter , WDT

I believe it will get stuck if you make wide adjustments with DF64 too.
The Eureka Silenso's 50mm seems very small, i played with my friend's 54mm flat burr and was not easy to get fine enough.
For flat, i suggest getting a bigger burr size. If it's conical, which mine is only 48mm, does it much finer due to the larger surface.

The df64 definitely gives you much better grind quality than the Eureka, but not sure how much well it can last. Eureka has been around for quite some time. :o

Ok. There was a typo I meant Specialita instead of Silenso
