I just purchased the currently out of production BDB (Breville Dual Boiler) from Australia for 1199aud. Getting a friend to bring it back for me.

I forgo the warranty considering significant savings compared to $2000 rrp in Singapore.

Looking forward to receiving it by end of week.


PS: alot of Australia websites already oos or low supplies. If one can find an affordable freight forwarder then hit me up I'll share with you the link I got it from.


Beans wise I am not going for single origin specialty coffee beans yet as I mainly go for espresso style coffee (currently using a moka pot) with commercial beans like Segafredo and Lavazza.

For those who get to travel to Europe or has friends / connections travelling. You can get a bag of beans 1kg from the hypermart for around 10-15 euro. A huge steal compared to the same product here for $40-50 per kilo.

There's a reason why coffee roasting is only allowed at B2 Factories and why those cafes with in-house roasting are likely illegal.
The last I read was the roasting process, especially during the off-gas, will release a massive amount of toxic fumes that could cause lung hardening and cancer. Don't kill your family.

Anyway, I don't see the point.

La Marzocco opened a local office in Pasir Panjang which sells directly to customers. You can email them or make an appointment to visit the showroom to check out the Linea Micra. Be prepared to wait though as I think they do not have ready stock.

New releases - DF83 and Niche Duo

Single doser or hopper is down to preference, dun think one is " wrong " over the other, just your workflow. If you are the type that today you want coffee A, later lunch coffee B, tmr coffee C then single doser. I am happy with my hopper grinder.
