Nice.. haha.. i only use the sodastream when friends come over for some highball n whiskey..
If not its collecting dust.. lol

I see. I haven't got the chance to add some fizzy water for my whisky. I only use it for G&T, and just carbonated water for drinking.

Sometimes I make ribena with soda water, taste so much better than just normal cold water.

What long-term staple beans are everyone using now? Have been using arcaffe margo for a few years and pleased with their flavor, but noticed price went up again ($33/kg). Looking for an alternative - either cheaper or better flavor around the same price point

Global offee price went up nearly 400% since covid and still rising rapidly. That's why we are looking at massive increase in prices.

Alot of hawkers are switching to coffee adulterated with maize roasted with sugar, msg, salt and margarine.

The only way to go cheap or maintain prices is to swap to use cheaper and poorer quality coffee :(

Thanks for sharing. Saw your past comments about Margo, Elba, Roma.

Current 1 kg prices:
Margo: $33
Elba: $45
Roma: $46.50

Do you still find the taste of Roma the best? Looking at Elba price point, it's so close to Roma now that if Roma tastes a lot better, I'm thinking of going for Roma straight.

Plus, Roma is CSC certified, and Elba is not. It gives me the impression that Elba is the same 'grade'/tier as Margo, yet it's much more expensive than Margo. Does CSC-certified mean anything or it's mostly marketing?

Certification is usually a qc progress that the quality, processing and species must consistently meet the same grade.

Elba is 100 pct arabica, Margo is not. Elba is very fruity and complex, what's unusual is it has a very strong body with good crema for a lighter roast. Roma is cleaner and more delicate. The three are quite different from my experience. Margo is old fashion traditional style espresso but smoother, I think most folks like that familiar taste. :o

Why is robusta more expensive than arabica varietals ?

Varietals aside, country of origin also matters. Just like grapes and wine. Same grapes but different climate and environment will taste different

Anyone owns a BDB and has leaking group head before? Is the group head collar insert the culprit?
