price is OK . a slight premium to taste different types of coffee

Yup its a good experience. The usual dark espresso style blends are mostly chocolate, nutty or woody flavours. Not much in fruit or flower aromas but this one combines the 2 so you do get the rich aroma of fruit and still the finish is with the cocoa emphasis.

Easily to pull the shot. I tried it with 15 and 18g doses with the vst baskets and 16g dose with the VBM stock baskets and it all taste good. Temp is mid-range at 92 degrees but i think if you want more acidity and fruit can try 88 degrees. highly recommended!

4.5 pounds for 250gms. shipping was around 4 pounds too. Roasted on the 5th and I ordered on the 5th. Came in on the 13th. So about 8-10 days post roast which I feel is just nice to de-gas.

They have international subscriptions but sadly only for japan and other countries. No singapore one yet.

I might try jail break blend with the next order.

That bag is 250gm? U sure invest a lot in your coffee.
Rule of 15, 7 days to clear not hard.

Surprise they disclose the receipe for each blend.

Going down Atlanta end of yr checking out http://www.batdorfcoffee.com

yep 250g. cheaper than squaremile if i recall. That makes singapore speciality roasters generally more expensive than uk ones if you do not take into account the shipping fee.

many roasters disclose the blend for transparency or to advertise they get their stuff from reputable estates or even the cup of excellence estate winners.

batdorf looks interesting. too bad US roasters don' ship here or the shipping is outrageously expensive. I'm dying to try intelligensia. Have you tried the black cat?

American roasters generally do not disclose blend recipe, farm maybe but % of each origin no. The Italian too. Surprise to see u call out they generally do.

Yes tried black cat many times. Now on bow truss, I enjoy both black cat and foundation espresso. Black cat had that distinct yirgacheffe favors in my latte, it didn't contain any Ethiopian beans. Going to Chicago suburb for biz again. Tried madcap long time ago, didn't leave a impression since I was on Jura. Shipping is cheap for madcap maybe will try it next yr.

I cannot buy anything without taking account to the cost of shipping

I used to buy decaf from spinelli many years ago. You could try to ask them to roast for you a fresh batch and collect at the branch of your choice which is what I did.

hi guys just chanced upon this thread and I'm looking to buy an espresso machine under 400 bucks. Currently looking at Delonghi ECO 310 is it any good?
Anybody have other recommendations or know where can buy Delonghi ECO 310 cheapest?

Hmm, just gotten myself a delonghi eco 310 last week. For starters like me i feel it is decent for the price so i cant argue much. But the steam wand is really positioned at an awkward angle and it's really hard to steam and make froth milk with that kind of steam power (relatively low). The built in tamper sucks, gonna get a real tamper soon. The shots pulled are pretty okay. If you are low on budget and desperately want to experience making coffee on an espresso machine then u might wanna get it, if not i think it's not really worth it.

Is your steam wand the panarello wand? There is a guide on home barista i think that teaches how to "surf' the hole on the side the of wand to get pretty decent foam. are you using the pressurised portafilter?

Yup it's the pannarello wand. If i don't remove the outer sleeve to steam milk the amount of foam it creates is horrible. It's fluffy foam and not microfoam. Yup i'm still using the pressurized portafilter, saw a couple of videos where the user modified to a unpressurized one, not so sure about the pros/con though. Do you have any link where i can check it out haha.

Outer sleeve means the chrome thing? So just left with the metal stick? Like that very short leh...

I remove the outer sleeve which is the top part(in image), so left the bottom part(in image) attached to the machine. There's no metal stick ??

This is what I used to do to get finer foam when I was using a pannarello style wand with the Jura
CoffeeGeek - Frothing for Newbies & Intermediates

Check this out about the pressurized portafilter. I suppose if use fresh beans grinded at the correct size it should still make good espresso. I suppose the capsule machines work the same way.
