Skip the flair and rok. I have use the flair side by side with the robot, work flow wise the robot wins hands down due to the lack of preheat and lesser parts..

The flair require a pot of boiling water and tongs to preheat the chamber making the process longer. The removal of puck requires some work too.

The rok is filled with plastic parts in the brew chamber, and many of it are prone to cracks leaks and failure after long use.

The robot and grinder are easily moved around due to it's size and weight, it's not contain water and does not require power. My robot machine I usually put it outside in the hall area after using it as a show piece. You can easily move it around with one hand. The only sizable thing would be the steamer which would need a dedicated space.

A good grinder will help tremendously with dialing in. The jx PRO is top dial adjustment with near stepless dial, it's specially made for espresso dialing in. Grab some fresh roasted beans and you are on your way to coffee heaven.

I can’t find a Jx pro though. Only the normal Jx. I do see a EPro. Will that be better?

Edit: I saw a Jx Plus. That should be the one I think

Lelit takes like 1min between brew and stream.
Sage is alot faster like 10secs.
50 secs a big deal for u? when I have boiler its never a issue.

burn boiler not easy imho, as long u have water you will not have issue.

since U making latte and cap, and looking at machine which can grind why u skipping super auto? long steam time?

Well I guess 1 min won’t matter much as most of the time I will only be making a single cup. I was watching videos about the Rancilio Silvia on YouTube, and it did take quite awhile longer than 1min. It’s also a single boiler setup so I used it for comparison.

As for why not super autos, I guess the general maintenance is a concern? Especially with the use of milk like that. Also I’m not sure you can get the same experience when pulling shots super auto vs semi auto

Yes. Below 800 is inclusive of shipping & GST. I did actually pay for the Sage 5 days ago, but was refunded as the package was damaged enroute. So I have a chance to take a second look while waiting for prices to fall.

From the videos that I’ve seen, the Lelit looks quite the tank. The benefits over the Sage if I am not mistaken is the 58mm PF, the brass boiler and general build quality. Cons would be the vast difference in timing to make the same cup of Latte due to the longer build up to steam. (stronger steam from boiler but longer time before use)

But would you say that the boiler machines are abit unforgiving in a sense that you can burn the boiler?

different machine different performance.

super auto which auto froth milk is a pain to maintain. u must not click my earlier links. those that use wand easier to maintain. But I still like the Lelit better.

Did the doctor mentioned that the aluminium from nespresso is the probable cause for alzheimer's?
Sort of. The doc said the disease is not fully understood. It could be genes or linked to cookwares, from toxic metal like aluminium and lead. Nobody else in the family history has such a disease.

Besides aluminium, lead is also another possible culprit.
Lead can be leached from brass boiler or brass fittings.

Brass fittings can't be avoided since that is the best material that has the strength and conducts heat well. Your existing water pipes at home are made with that. Brass boiler can be avoided.

Not all brass is equal though. Good brass is made with low lead, you will need some lead in it else it becomes too brittle. Even better ones are shielded with a protection layer. The problem will start if the user descales as it can strip off the top protection layer and begins the leaching process. Those low lead brass only release trace amount that is still considered safe according to the recently revised European standard which is more stringent. Newer machines are generally safer than machines made a decade ago in that aspect of lead release. Aluminium is still as bad as before because there's nothing much that can be done to it.

Hi guys,

I currently got a Helor 101 for my Gaggia Classic at home.

Looking to buy another cheap grinder for use in office with my Mario French press. Does the taste differ if I use a cheap grinder for French press? If not, any good recommendations? Was looking at this :

hmm any lower cost options? AUD120 is a bit steep for a secondary grinder that I only use once a week tops.

OZ I though the strong earning power... 2 hr and $120 is there easy.
joke aside, U can try hand style since U doing it once a week.

Hi, may i know where you purchase the robot espresso from?

I will give
you my most unorthodox recommendation, skip all the entry-level home espresso machines you mentioned, they look so easy to use, but in real life nobody puts all their beans in the hopper at home especially while its warming up ontop of any espresso machine. Going single dosing with these type of grinders will drive you nuts.

If i were to redo my whole coffee game on a budget this would be it.

1) Robot Espresso Maker (the normal version will do) $450+
2) 1zpresso JX-PRO manual grinder (200+) From TB
3)WPM MS-130D milk steamer ($300++) from TB

Slightly above your budget but you be banging out shots easily on par with the best cafes in SG using machines costing x 10. The added bonus is 1) & 2) are bullet proof, no scaling issues to worry, mantainance free, last forever, even if you upgrade your gear they have high resale value. No heating and within 10 mins your coffee is ready.

The milk steamer is just for those milk based lovers or guest, but generally what i have seen is if espresso is prepared correctly, you would slowly being to prefer coffee without any thing added.

ah i didn't find ZD-10 on taobao initially, hence the price difference.

anyway, can any kind soul translate "conical burr grinder" to chinese for me? google translate isn't accurate and doesn't give me good results. wana do a bit more research before I settle on the ZD10.

How does this compare to the ZD10? Seems like got more reviews..
