tried this ALTO PALOMAR beans from FCC

how come got lingering bitter taste? tried lower espresso temp to 90c, also have the tingly bitterness.

Is it because of tobacco profile?

Aromatic profiles:
Notes of honey, toasted almond and sweet tobacco. Harmonious sweetness.

Tried coarser grinds / less grinds / tighter extraction ratios? Usually does the trick ( Alter a factor at a time )

Never tried Alto Palomar, but they pegged it as similar bitterness / acidity as several of their other beans . Offhand their La Cumbre and Dambi Uddo were tasty.

ok going to try 19g to 30g out and coarser later tonight

not sure if their table zhun or not, the bitterness is like bitter gourd, very unusual kopi

even the smell got bitter aroma

this variety beans also very hard shell, grinding was ricocheting about

Nowadays, i just buy the darker roast. They are cheap, easy to extract and good.
They are also very versatile to make more types of drinks.
Xmas and CNY are coming, need to standby a few kg for guests.

Lately, i have tried making kopi O for some old folks with my Bezzera, not bad at all.
I did not use the standard stay of making into long black or Americano way to do it. I have my own secret recipe.

All my old folks gave two thumbs up and declared it was the best kopi O they had ever tasted in their past 80 years.

I once found one forgotten and unopened pack of Margo hiding behind some Maggi mee, bought almost a year ago. Crema remained thick, fruitiness all there. Not always you can find some fruitiness in darker roasts. Fed to my guests, no diarrhoea. So I think okay.

hmm sounds good to me...I read that they used nitrogen to pump into the package therefore can retain longer like some potato chips.

today tried arcaffe roma. extraction was good on the first tried without any dailing in needed... 120 clicks on the 1zpresso. Taste not bad not too. a very pleasant experience.

tried coarser grind at 14g, still leave bitter gourd taste on tongue, even with cold milk.

i like bitter gourd fish slices, but not for kopi espresso.

gived up, going to cold brew the remainder

anyone buy ALTO PALOMAR, let me know if the taste profile is like bitter gourd or i got a bad batch

Been a month, i keep trying to restock Arcaffe Roma but it keep say no stock on web.
start to message them via FB chat.
Was told The entire shipment of Roma was taken, the next shipment should be in March or April.
WTF... lol.. anyone from here took the entire shipment?
