last week chiky pass me some of her fresh blend :)

Very fresh and I tested it with my kalita and also my Silvia.

Kalita ( this blend is not for filter )
The bloom is until the top edge which means it's very fresh. Taste is quite flat, not sour and slight bitter.

Espresso
Need to tighten my grinder ( 1 revo more ) and overdose to 19gm using my VST. No sour at all. Very suitable for latte :)

Well done!

thanks for the encouragement. although i think i could've done better.
i think my roasts tasted flat too. maybe due to flavor lost by baking it perhaps?
interesting when you said there's no sourness, coz i can always taste some acidity with mine. flat vs conical?

I always roast batches of 80gm, consisting of:
30gm Colombia Supremo
30gm Ethiopian Yirgacheffe
20gm Brazilian Santos

I just finished my bag of Santos greens. Looking to try Mandheling next.

Ceramic Cups?

Hi Coffee drinkers,

May I know where can I get those nice coloured ceramic cappuccino cups in Singapore? I am looking for the bigger ones... maybe 350ml and above.

I tried espressocups, chinatown, Papa Palheta already.

Any idea?

Thanks!

Try tangs where they sell illy cups. If I'm not mistaken they were selling the artist range there. Good quality and nice designs

You can try jimmy monkey. I think they have Inker Croatia made cups.
If u don't mind small sizes go to okada coffee. Hand made Japanese porcelain. Very very nice. Between 50-100 dollars if I recall correctly.

My friend bought his behmor from AU online too. Why not go all they way and get a hot top?

I dunno why the hottop doesn't appeal to me as much as the others. What's the pricing like? Don't think local got sell right? AU online too?

I find Inker particularly "thin" compared to ACF/Acme.

IMHO Acme is the most solid cup you can buy on the market since ACF now has gone bust.

The first thread is indeed classic.
The snob got shot till surrendered.

Should stick it in the sticky since it's a faq by amateurs asking what machine to buy for an affordable espresso machine.

Most people are asking for affordable espresso machines with good milk features. Actually the selection is just that few.

Wow this thread has really gone cray cray. IMO I think everyone made fair points...just that it may have come across wrongly since you can't really tell tone from written text.

Anyway, besides features/tech specs, I think an important point to consider is servicing and after service. It's important to get a brand that can be serviced properly in Singapore, especially if things go south and you need parts etc.

At the end of the day, test/research before you buy and buy what you're happy with.

Yes it is pretty thin. The Japanese cups too. More for the aesthetic appeal. I'm using acf and d ancap plain white ones for espresso cups. Solid!

Have not come across a local distro. My friend behmor did catch fire when he was not looking and seems home class roasters spoil easily. another roaster to look at is fracino ones sold by coffee in a place. Here is a crazy modded one.
