Budget tight can consider Expobar Pulser with Bezzera BB005 grinder. Below $1800
http://www.finecoffeecompany.com/shop/expobar-office-pulser/
http://www.finecoffeecompany.com/shop/coffee-grinder/

Or upgrade grinder to Quamar M80E at $899.
Or upgrade machine to Expobar EB61 at $1599.

I think now have sale on Expobar, din see it last week.

Now gd coffee machines like getting so cheap, coffee bean sellers are going to get good business.

Edit:
My friend emailed the carousell guy and he says there's zero warranty and future support.
If want to take the risk, i think just order yourself from overseas directly.

There's a high concentration of scammers on carousell.
Furthermore, I dont think those are official sellers n expect long term support.

I will rather order from overseas.

If you drink Americano and long black alot, can just get a chemex.

They allow you to test various machines there, so you can have a very clear view. I personally like the Bezzera Strega the most but I already bought the Brewtus. Maybe just check with them the cleaning process.

Ya at most, I think they just order from overseas or ebay cheap then sell, no warranty.

As well order from overseas directly yourself.
But coffee machines with no local support is damn risky.

Every few years sure have to maintain a little.

Can't say it's better or good, it's up to your preference.
I taste before, it's lighter like tea.

It's more troublesome and may not fit your criteria though

Chemex is drip!
Using paper filter yield cleaner taste. Higher caffeine content
Really depends on preference. I wouldn't say lighter than tea. Go into s cafe and try it and see if u enjoy the taste

I use both Chemex and HX. I enjoy latte more than Chemex.

Chemex less work than HX. No need expensive grinder, no HX to maintain. You just need a timer and a scale to be exact but u could do away if u don't have a acute taste.

It takes longer time to make a cup but with Chemex u making many cups.
Both brew methods
- time grind beans, Chemex don't need super fine
- time takes to boil water almost same as HX
- Chemex just clean with soap and water, HX needs back flush with water b4 shutting off, weekly or mthly back flush with cleaning tablets. Once a year may need to remove shower screen to clean.

For either methods, do I need to adjust my grind setting coarser from espresso grind size?

Usually for a full immersion cold brew like toddy I grind around slightly coarser than french press, and typically a medium-fine grind for dripping over ice.

Its best to experiment to taste, but definitely will be quite a fair bit coarser than grinding for espresso.

Chemex is certainly more costly, hario v60 is a good entry to drink long blacks. Little investment.

Lazy to buy paper filter just get this Osaka

Since it requires a coarse grinder and I don't do it often, I think I'm getting a small hand grinder and leave my espresso grinder alone.

What is a good grinder for such drip i can get from Amazon??
