Another tip:

Buy a small basket (with holes at the bottom to go through) to carry your toiletries for you to bring down to the toilets downstairs

You can also tie a string and/or get a hook
So you can hook them inside the toilet

Don't worry about the toilet. I've seen some of them in various HIP projects. They're generally clean. I'm guessing they have people who clean the toilets throughout the day
Thank chiu for your good advice Bro JoeBlackCoffee! :)

I bought many plastic sheets (for painting type) and masking tape (dun buy cheap type)

Paste from floor to ceiling to seal up:
Whole living room
Kitchen cabinets (also floor to ceiling) , fridge, washing machine

Because the dust from the hacking will fly all over. The sheets are thin and light. But will drop when wind blows because the main door is always open as workers come in and out. So get decent masking tape.

Then use wet cloth to cover the gap of your bedroom doors.
My mother and I stayed in our rooms during the whole HIP
if my sick father was still alive, we would have moved him and my mother out temp.

During last fee days decision maker better stay at home:
Tell the where to install the fittings you want. What position, high, low...
Check every inch because they like to cut corners, lazy and take shortcuts

Cos I saw chips and cracks on the tiles. They pretend never see. So I told them to hack and replace the tile.
One of them also dropped a tool on the tile when installing my heater. Then got a chip. I told them to replace.

They die die want you to sign off desperately. So if you're not happy, don't sign, tell their supervisor.
You only see supervisor on the last day when signature is required from you.
Then after sign, they ask u take photos with them with a thumbs up sign 🤦🏻‍♂️

The mobile/temp toilets downstairs really reminds me of army days;

The toilet floor is usually/easily flooded, must wear slippers all the time when inside, pray hard i do not drop anything.

Thanks for the advice.

while I don't know where to move them, I will look into it. Was planning to lock them in the study room and bed room. Because shifting them to an unfamiliar place might frighten them.
All the best, bro! Please update us. Moi HIP coming soon too. I am worried coz I have cat and dog and some other small animals....no idea what to do.....🤔
You have to move the animals

My upper floor guy is loaded , like to redo his floor every 8 years for fun
It accelerated the deafness of my dog during its final years.
That is just 1 floor with limited jackhammer
The toilet HIP they do 6 jackhammer at once , 2per floor x 3 floor , much louder and more days since u start to hear it few days prior as they go from upper to lower floor, multiply by adjacent units left right.
I expect it's not survivable to animals. You have to move them out to other place , find other animal lover.
I saw others bring their cat dog duck all away. Only low budget cat owner bring the cat back daily not paid pet boarding.

I am sorry to learn that the noise accelerated the deafness of your dog in its final years.

Also, thank you for sharing your experience, for I have yet to consider the impact of the renovation noise on pets.

You are the third person in this thread advising me that I should move my cat elsewhere.

I will certainly make plans this month, since mine will start in December.
