GPU for 27" 2560x1440 resolution

i play BF3 on 27" 2560x1440 and 24" 1920x1200. I actually prefer the 24". you can read the blogs of various fps pro gamers, most of them do not like overly large screens. I'm using 7950 2560x1440 BF3 on all high settings, minimum 40fps. average 50+fps.

For RTS, bigger the screen the better, but note that 27" 16:9 is not that much bigger than 24" 16:10.

Using the Dell Monitor. Single GTX 680 will not be able to max up some games, but can play at high by turning AA off.

I would say GTX 670 and above cards needed.

More importantly get more VRAM. Minimum 3gb. Mine now bottleneck by VRAM.

I was looking at GTX 780 with 3gb vram but its very expensive.. and i might need to change my PSU also

GTX 770 only certain brand carry the 4gb vram version.

Btw I'm not into multi-screen also. I just wanna have a nice single big screen which can satisfy my visual sensation. Lol

Very true. Later 4k resolution gaming come out everyone will chiong to upgrade graphics cards again. So stay content with what we have.

Haha same here, now only waiting for asus gtx 780 dc2 and ROG Maximus vi formula!

PS: I'm actually thinking now whether to return my U2713hm, and then go tri setup of either 23" or 24", just couple of hundreds more for immerse tri screen gaming.

Yup I am upgrading from 24" 1920x1080 to 27" 2560x1440 for the experience.

I don't play games like crysis 3 or batman etc. So I will be temporarily using my HD7850 first and see how.

Was looking at 7 series GTX 770 or 780 to hope that it can last long, even shift it onto my next rig in 2-3 years time.

Gtx 770, might as well go for cheaper, 680 lol. GTX780 is the best card now. 2-3 years single card won't last for the long, maybe if you plan of SLI then maybe can. Or maybe Ares 2 or GTX790 will last for 2-3 years for single card double chip gpu.

If you not doing tri setup then what's the point of getting 4gb Vram?

Single display even at 1440p or even 1600p with 2gb Vram are considered way more than enough.

Note: don't think of getting 3gb and above unless you are running crazy resolutions with tri screen setup

cant go wrong with gtx780. can ultra to max setting @ 2560x1440 depending on game

Actually GTX 670 or 680 is more than enough to max everything, and because of 1440p IPS screens, you can off AA, which is one of the most intensive gpu harvester. Just a tip

AA double vram usage. well some people like to reduce graphical setting, while i dont. gtx670 is

No my point being, because of the higher resolution,IPS panel, the pixel density is higher when compared with 1080p on 27" monitors and TN panels. Thus, there's actually not a need to enable AA, it's a way to save costs for some people. Of course, this way you can keep all other settings at the highest.

Don't look down on 670, the Ti version actually able to perform on almost 680 standard

Yeah haha, dota 2 really don't need 780, even 660ti more than enough. But if he plays MMO like Guild Wars or NeverWinter, then need at least 680

GTX 800 series will be GK114, it's been rumored last time that GTX780 and above will use GK114 but seems not yet, so imo most probably 800series

Erm you relax lol, I'm not judging you by any means. I'm just saying that 1440p screen don't need AA to scale the graphic to make it look good, I'm not particularly saying that you must disable it, but of course you can always offset it in order to max out other details.
Also, I'm just pointing out that people who wants a 1440p doesn't necessarily need to upgrade to 780, ts mentioned 780 is pricy for him so I'm suggesting him an alternative.

i also never say u are wrong all the while.
gtx670 and gtx670 ti-oc is different btw.
i just saying gtx780 can handle AA better than other cards
