can't comment on amd cpu till i've used one myself. cos obviously, the reviews from various forums & even Teksyndicate and Jayz2cents can be like night and day. nothing wrong with being bias towards a brand. not assuming cos it's a fact, and for good reason of cos.
I don't think amd has really traded blows with nvidia, performance wise. maybe pricing yes, but performance, it's always the latter. but one does not always have to buy a product purely on performance.

You sure? In the past, AMD GPUs have no problems matching or exceeding Nvidia GPUs.

R9 290x was released during the original Titan and GTX780 days. It has no problem beating them.
7970 was competing against GTX580 and not problem with performance as well and so on......
So, I am not sure where you get the idea that Nvidia GPUs are always faster.
