dont see the value of NETS PP card

Au contraire, I can see several use-cases with some unique propositions of the NETS PP card.

Can top-up such a card and give it to a child, an MDW, a visiting guest who does not want to use his/her own country's credit/debit card.

The daily limit is an outstanding feature.

https://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tec...utm_medium=social-organic&utm_keyword=dlvr.it says:

"User changes made to these cards are immediate, so a NETS Prepaid Card owner can immediately lock cards or set spending limits of up to S$1,000 on-the-fly. Users can automate top-ups if needed. Terminating a card immediately refunds the stored value too."

I don't see any mention of spending alerts via the app, but if they can have that, it would be fabulous.

However, this is not for manufactured spend via UOB Absolute Amex, whose T&C says (https://www.uob.com.sg/personal/cards/credit-cards/rebates-cards/absolute-cashback.page): "Transactions at all merchants who accept American Express credit card payments are eligible for cashback. However, it does not include NETS and NETS-related transactions"

Not sure about Amex TCB though.

I see it like an alternative to use UOB Absolute Cashback Card to topup.

amex will incur $0.5 fee to top up

wld be surprised if rebate given

OK.

Currently using NETS Flashpay, so not appealing enough to switch, with cost of getting new NETS PP.

Those who dont own NFP may find this more useful.

For my overseas visitors recently, they find it more convenient now (with ABT) to use their own CC for our public transport.

Won't overseas visitors get charged the cross border fee ?

some of them use Revolut ;)

for some, the amount is not large so they dont bother

for others, they have other foreign CCs that apparently dont have extra fees .. mayb from digital banks from their respective countries

I find the removal of single use tickets at MRT stations absurb. A few times see tourists from nearby countries ask the Transitlink office to be told to buy a prepaid card for $10 with $5 value.

Many walk away after hearing it, maybe to take bus instead. Who would buy a prepaid card for just a one day visit.

But even if willing to use their own credit card, what about those with say a older child eg 10 years old. Can't use one credit card to tap for 2 person right ?
