NETS launches NETS Prepaid Card for transport and shopping
I see it like an alternative to use UOB Absolute Cashback Card to topup.sounds like all just hype ... like eGiro
dont see the value of NETS PP card
additional 30k to use then?I see it like an alternative to use UOB Absolute Cashback Card to topup.

I also not too sure that why I am asking if anyone has used it as an alternative to GrabPay.Something like cash card?
dont see the value of NETS PP card
so this card is not visa/mc?Au contraire, I can see several use-cases with some unique propositions of the NETS PP card.
Can top-up such a card and give it to a child, an MDW, a visiting guest who does not want to use his/her own country's credit/debit card.
The daily limit is an outstanding feature.
https://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tec...utm_medium=social-organic&utm_keyword=dlvr.it says:
"User changes made to these cards are immediate, so a NETS Prepaid Card owner can immediately lock cards or set spending limits of up to S$1,000 on-the-fly. Users can automate top-ups if needed. Terminating a card immediately refunds the stored value too."
I don't see any mention of spending alerts via the app, but if they can have that, it would be fabulous.
However, this is not for manufactured spend via UOB Absolute Amex, whose T&C says (https://www.uob.com.sg/personal/cards/credit-cards/rebates-cards/absolute-cashback.page): "Transactions at all merchants who accept American Express credit card payments are eligible for cashback. However, it does not include NETS and NETS-related transactions"
Not sure about Amex TCB though.
Try again at a more sane hourJust experienced authentication error using this card on AXS twice, unable to make payments. Is this usual?

Checked further & my card was set to lock w/o reason, I unlocked it, but failed to add for Revolut, stated bank decline transaction. Proceed to pay via AXS went thru.Try again at a more sane hour
so what is the benefit of using NETS PP?No.
It is a stored value card ... like NETS FlashPay with added features.
Won't overseas visitors get charged the cross border fee ?For my overseas visitors recently, they find it more convenient now (with ABT) to use their own CC for our public transport.

I find the removal of single use tickets at MRT stations absurb. A few times see tourists from nearby countries ask the Transitlink office to be told to buy a prepaid card for $10 with $5 value.some of them use Revolut
for some, the amount is not large so they dont bother
for others, they have other foreign CCs that apparently dont have extra fees .. mayb from digital banks from their respective countries
Are we the only country with MRT that don't have single fare ticket ?Cost reduction to maximize profits.
