it is actually more expensive for most times. unless you're really fortunate to get it off peak then you'll end up saving a few dollars.
ok, maybe the timings i take and u r different. i always compare among the apps when taking a ride. grab is mostly cheaper than the rests. if so, i either use grab to call taxi or use zig. either way, it is more taxis nowadays than phv.

yup its very area dependent (if have good flow of traffic both directions), then time dependent! The weather part is not predictable so cannot take it into consideration.

It's a good thing more taxis these days, rather then than PHV for the same price because they tend to have a better maintained fleet.

True, end of day I prefer taxis as they are more professional imo.

Due to my mum medical condition I am forced to use Grab,GoJek,CDG in recent months. For my area Grab is always most expensive whereas GoJek and CDG are on par. But I prefer GoJek as sometimes they got promo can have 10-15% off on non-peak hours on non-peak day of the week. It is also good all of them can take Amex so I can rebate further. For me professional or not is not key consideration it is more that they can come on time to fetch me and my mum to hospital/polyclinic and not miss the appointment timing.

For my entire 20+ years after working, last few months is the most monies I spent on taxi fare and I am so shocked but this cannot be avoided as I only have one mother since my father is gone. This is my last hurdle to settle before I go for my FIRE later.

My preference is for CDG as its a app for just one purpose of getting a ride ...

Grab is a bit too "super" app and confusing to me ....

Other than Grab as a wallet to pay at hawker, which other platforms are better, or gives more incentive now that GPMC is nerfed? Heard of all those Liquidpay etc, but doesn't seem any better as well.

My mom uses rides frequently and I am the one booking them for her. CDG are generally the most expensive compared to Tada, Gojek or grab during peak hours more likely than not. If I choose the meter for meter readings and use credit card, there is a 10% admin charge. Lastly, the app is showing the car is horrible. It doesn’t show the movement. Rather, the car seems to be flying from one point to another. Difficult to predict the waiting time. I must say CDG needs to work harder for the app to be on par with the rest.

use paylah to order taxi via zig, or use dbs/ocbc cc to pay. no 10% charge.

interesting. have never been bothered about the car flying around or not on the app or even check it 😂 most importantly there is a notification when the car is arriving to alert me, that's all I care about.

No admin charge for CDG if you use dbs / ocbc card right for meter? (or even pay lah which most people have). And usually go for the all in fixed price, unless you're desperate and no cabs around.
