First coat of paint...
Looks like screwed up.
Really should have primed with white paint...

Update: not too bad lah. No evidence of pooling YET. colours are uneven though. need to increase spray distance and change direction of spraying.

it will be better to use satay sticks to hold up each part and spray individually. placing on cardboard to spray is ok for those parts where only one side needs to be sprayed.

yea, havent gotten around to buying satay sticks yet. Now that i think i if, i really shld have used the satay sticks, but was too lazy and didnt want to mess up the lift landing( where i was painting everything, dry next to windows). Paint is giving me a headache now...

Im experimenting with 2 different ways i spraying. 1 is press and hold directly at the parts. This gives a better colour, but i see some parts pooling alr... the second way is burst paint. its thinner, but it dosent cover everything. the orange still resembles green...

How many coats do i need for the second way? i have done 2 coats alr...

I used wooden chopsticks. Thicker and reusable. More stable with blue tack. 1 pack of chopsticks a dollar niah.

yea. i just found out the hard way. finished 3rd coat of paint. its looks really good now. wonder what would happen after it dries. and i hope HBD dun fine me for vandalizing the lift landing.(even though i used newspapers, the whole place is orange...)

Sooo, chopsticks or satay sticks? How to reuse chopsticks?

Anyone knows how to remove paint? my whole hand is orange too...

Ehh, satay sticks cheaper, and for some sticks use crocodile clip attach part to it makes it easy to handle.
I too use spray paint but i use satay stick hold up in one hand hand spray in short burst.
Liddat the paint wont be too thick. And the area will not be covered in paint . U got those free plactic spoons from foodcourt ir hawker center? Pratice on that first, else your expensive kits all wasted.
Once you got the hang of the pressure, distance and angle it will be safer to do on your kits.

Always clean the nozzle with wet tissue. Blockage will cause droplets for spray can.

I used to be like you, morally abiding citizen who covered the floor with newspaper to spray in HDB corridor but now, I realize, if I hold up the parts in the air [At above waist level] or hold it over the balcony, the air will carry the fine mist. Now, there's no residue on the floor nor on the walls.

But it also means doing 1 part by 1 part, but I find that gives the best result, even though you find yourself using more paint. Also, if you can, you can get those mini metal paper clips like:

bxp26602.jpg

And run a stick through the back hole and secure it with a combination of tape and blue tack, to give you better hold of the bigger parts.

Just came back from HAW and damn, the GSS sales makes me wanna snap up alot of the AGE kits but end up only snag the RG MK-II AEUG and Sinanju. Lucky there's no Titans version or that one also come home with me...

For your hand? Use industrial thinner to wash.

The clip i buy from daiso, depends on size , big 1 comes in 3 per pack iirc...

and also use to hold the parts when doing seamlines

Bleh, 400ml of spray paint ran out after 3 coats of approx. 60 parts. Thats really fast. No wonder people say spray paint is expensive...

Well, for one, airbrush will save u more money in e long run.

i think i better watercool or add additional fins for my compressor.

everytime i airbrush, the airtank's pressure drop to 3bar and triggers the compressor, making it run almost constantly.
