Shinjuku, sunroute hotel shinjuku. barely 5 minutes from the south? entrance of the station. get on the correct train, you can be in akihabara in 10 minutes. wrong, train, 20 minutes.

RG is very difficult wor... it is more complex than MG, with lots of small parts.

for snap fitting, SD is probably the easiest coz it got the least parts. but to make it look good, SD may be one of the hardest to do!

Agreed, SD without color work is so bland!

actually for course, it is to learn the basics. then from there, evolve your skills into what works for you. cause what works for you and get you results may not be what works for another person. most important is you inject your own creativity and touch to the kit.

tried some paints

left to right, gaia pearl silver, gaia pearl gold mix with pearl copper, mr crystal color sapphire blue, mr crystal color diamond silver.

all coated with 1 layer of fluorescent clear.
pardon the lousy hp camera quality

Colors are sprayed on top of gray surfacer or enamel black or white surface or bare??

I like the Sapphire blue ...

If considering Sunroute Hotel Shinjuku, I would recommend considering Century Southern Tower Hotel too. Century Southern is even closer to Shinjuku station (literally 3 mins away from the South Terrace exit,all the staff speak perfect english and if you get the right facing the view is spectacular. Stayed there the last 2 times i was in Tokyo.

Do note that only book this hotel when Hotels.com has its 50% off 101hr specials.. if not its expensive at more SGD$300 per/night

i nv like using gaia starbright silver. the particles are too big. not fine enough.
i use mr super metallic super fine silver for my candy gloss.

Hmmzzz.. with regards to the fineness of the silver though, I personally think its subjective and depends on the final look to be achieved. At least this is what i learned from doing the spoon comparison. Cos although the eventual color of the Clear color over Gaia SL silver is not as reflective as Clear color over finer chromes (e.g. Alcad), i actually found that it is exactly the slightly larger particles of Gaia SL which give "depth" to the candy gloss color. Hmmzz.. a little bit hard to explain in words..
Ok.. i will get off my lazy butt and attempt to post my comparison tonite so that GPGT

i get what u mean with the particles on the candy gloss.
still i prefer to use finer chrome base coat. looks more 'refine' to me.
happy with my sinanju result.

talk about paint collecting.. lol, i just did a count last nite.
153 bottles excluding about 10+ acrylic paints.
i didnt even know i got this much.

Bro Surge007 is correct about Century Southern Tower Hotel also. but yes need to look for offer. if not, if you dun mind staying slightly off the route, okubo station is also good, stay at Shinjuku apartments: Hundred Stay in Tokyo.
