Does it matter if the serial number on the achieva warranty card is different with that of the hDD. I'd written the previous serial number onto the card, but the return refurbished unit's number is changed.

Hi all,

I just filled in the RMA form on WD website. The instruction ask me to send the HDD to Flextronics Manufacturing at Changi North Way.

I would liked to ask whether can I bring in the HDD myself instead of sending it in?

yes you can, i just brought it to Flextronics 2 days ago (instead of mailing it)

Print out the RMA, don't cut it yet ... head down to changi north way office and they'll do it for you

takes one week for an RMA, but they'll be sending it back by post

If we want to RMA at Achieva (at SLS),
do we still need to fill up the RMA form at http://websupport.wdc.com/warranty/serialinput.asp
or do we just show up at Achieva ?

i just sent my hdd through registered mail on last friday, item will delivered to changi at monday. but till today which is thursday, there is no update status in wdc rma status page(which still say, waiting for product).
is this normal?

Today, WD RMA reflected received and is processing the replacement hard disk.

mine is still waiting for product, i sent on thursday through singpost RA on 1st-dec-2011, and item is confirmed to have delivered on 05-12-2011 through RA tracking.

wonder if they have lost my item or not..

man, still "waiting for product" status.. i'm losing confidence with western digital.. should have bought seagate or hitachi which give more responsive status update and not like now which i'm just a sitting duck nia..

Dropped mine off at Flextronix on Friday afternoon. Got the email saying it was received today.

Received email that my replacement drive is shipped today.

Shipped model: WD800AAJS-00M0A0

So I am getting back the same 80GB HDD.

Now need to create another RMA, a client WD Blue 500GB developed bad sectors in 1½ year of usage.
WD quality is going down the slope!!!

so far I RMA two different HDDs this year. Erm average around 7 working days.

word of advice to everyone rmaing, MUST print the rma paper with ur address.
no rma form with address = no rma

ya, u must use the RMA paper they provide

anyway for my case, they seems to have lost my hdd, i have prove(registered article batch receival signed form) that they have received my hdd but they dont really have any channel to inform of that prove that they have received.

anyone have any recommendation or which email should i enquiry?
i call up flexontronics number under WDC website, they dont seems to give me any positive reply. Should i sue WDC under Small Claims Tribunal for the lost of my property?
