Side note, does installing a sound card on the desktop helps a lot more? What kind sounds sound card shld i install?

i have tried the HD650. Sounds good, but i prefer the soundstage on the k702. Feels like taking a seat at the back of the theatre hall while the HD650 would be the front row Also thought that the HD650 had a tad too much bass for my liking.
one with too much treble, one with too much bass. Is EQing recommended?
if it helps, i am also currently using an Etymotic hf5. Simply adore the sound signature of the etys.

Not easy to find a good closed hp at that price range. Save a bit more and get a maddogs

If you're using wireless normally it wouldn't affect anymore since you'll be getting the audio signal from the wireless transmitter.

What are your recommendations for DACs, and maybe a headphone for my desktop?

What's the closest that can be recommend??

At that budget, prob the M50 or the ATH 700 series.
DT1350 is a pretty good closed HP. But its not full sized cans and you may need to stretch your budget a bit. Or you can grab 1 on sale/2nd hand

I would sell of the J3 and top up the $200 to get another portable player that can work as a USB dac. Like a Fiio X5. M50 is a good choice around $200

Nay...at tat price range, there's afew models you should short-list before hooting the ie800. aka3003, shure se846 and custom iems from jh, fitears, unique melody..my personal fav would be the akg3003. not tried the um mentor yet but i'm curious if i would prefer it over the 3003

i am thinking of getting the ath ad700x. just wondering, is it ok if i just pair it up with my onboard sound card? i am also thinking of getting the creatve soundblaster zx, will it make a huge difference or just minimal improvement?

Would like to hear footsteps from left or right and also explosions clearly in BF4.

The AD700X is an easily driven headphone. Your onboard realtek codec should do just fine. Do note that for some head-fiers, it is considered quite bright and bass light.

Save the $ on the SB ZX and get the Z instead. The additional headphone out module is mediocre and not worth the additional $20 or more.
