With the phone tech now. Whats the purpose of having a DAP over phone?
Phone output is lousier har? Assuming both using the same IEM?

for some people, maybe the following reasons
- support for hi-res file format, e.g. MQA
- better or more powerful sound output [cos some headphones require more power]
- support for other headphone ports, e.g. 2.5mm, 4.4mm ports

can also consider edifier wh500

got it at below $40 during 8.8 sale

do note the cons of on-ear headphones though, minimal isolation, also doesn't stay on the head firmly compared to over-ear headphones

depends on your usage scenario

Need recommendations for earphones(preferably open back)/IEM for music and gaming. Needs to have balanced sound, not overtly bass/treble heavy. Can list options up to $300 and $500

Will anyone recommend the Bose 700?
recommend to audition and compare with your current headphones, the bigger headphone stores should have. can contact them them to check before going down

personally not a fan of design-led/lifestyle brands such as Bose :)

Was going to do an impulse buy cos the day before the lazada is at $99, stack coins and vouchers is down to $73 only!

But eventually didn't buy...read several reviews....plasticky quality is bearable but the big NO is it appears the low freq cancellation is not too good....hmmnn...think that's the main purpose of ANC? Think I stick to my super comfy old QC3 on-ear...praying the batt can drag it out as long as possible...

1more sonoflow can be bought from aliexpress between $63-57.

After experiencing the Stax Spirit S3, the common cons that reviewers mentioned are no longer present. With those cons gone, I think the S3 is possibly, by a wide margin, the best portable headphone in sound quality and far cheaper than those of similar sound quality.

Perhaps the only con, is no custom eq….goodness sake. The drivers are so much capable of heavier bass.
