hi OCBC team, how do i close my account?

Hi boiboi123,

In order to close your account, you will have to fill in this form http://www.ocbc.com/assets/pdf/acco...rms/letter-of-instruction-Account-Closure.pdf, and submit it at the branch (bring NRIC/Passport, passbook, if any) or by mail.

Do note that you will have to visit the branch if:
- Account is opened using thumbprint.
- Account is dormant (Verification of identity is required).
- If Passbook is lost.

Hi OCBC team,

Not sure if this have been answered as I just found out about this thread. So I have quite a number of coins that I would like to deposit to my newborn CDA's account with OCBC. Can you advise me the procedures plus if there's any charges involved?

Hi ryisamu,

You will have to head down to our branches in order to deposit coins into your child’s CDA account.

Coins will have to be sorted according to the following criteria:

• Into their respective denominations, AND
• Into the respective series (e.g. separate the coins from the third series from the other series)

Number of coins should be less or equal to 1000. Please note that there will be a service charge of S$1.50 for every 100 coins deposited or part thereof.

Coins deposit are only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays (except public holidays).

Normal Branches – 9.30am to 11.30am
Sunday Banking – 1pm to 3pm
ION, Toa Payoh Central, Ang Mo Kio, Jurong Point, Bedok branch – 3pm to 5pm

Hi OCBC,

not sure if this question has been answered, but if my father is 58, can he still open an SRS account with you? He has recently re-entered the workforce, so would like to know if there will be any additional conditions placed on his account based on his age / employment status.

Thanks!

Hi Evil Bunny,

You will be able to initiate a recurring transfer in you internet banking.

Simply select “Payment & transfer” -> “Make a transfer” -> Select the relevant options and key in beneficiary details

When you key in the amount, there will be a field for you to indicate if you want to “Transfer Now” or “Recurring Transfer”.

Please visit http://www.ocbc.com.sg/personal-banking/online-banking/funds-transfer.html for more information.

Hope this clarifies.

Hi Radicalace,

To open an SRS account, the applicant will simply need to be 18 years of age & above.

Your father will need to visit any one of our branches with his NRIC to open the account.

Alternatively if he has internet banking, he can log on and apply for SRS.

Hi OCBC, am extremely disappointed with your poor customer service. I did not get my 6% Frank card cash rebates for quite a few of my online purchases, I need to know why and what are the merchants that are excluded as none of my online transactions I made actually fall under the exclusion list.

I called the bank, and the CSO asked me to go look up the merchants excluded on website myself. What a joke, I have already done that and I did not see how my online transactions are deemed non-online transactions when none of them actually fall under the exclusion list, that's why I'm asking YOU to kindly enlighten me.

Later on, I emailed the bank, with a screenshot of my credit card bill, I want OCBC to list out the EXACT merchans which are excluded for the rebates. This is their reply: We are unable to accede to account related information via this unsecured feedback channel. Great, thank you very much.

So, 2 weeks ago, I wrote in via my ibanking, and til date, I have NOT recieved any replies from the bank? It's been a month and my queries are not answered, so OCBC, tell me what should I do next?

I experienced something similar a few months ago and when I called, I asked the CSO to go through each transaction 1-by-1 for that month and tell me which ones were included and which ones were not. But most of my spending were via paypal and apparently some merchants indicate the transaction code as "goods" and some as "service" etc. Only the bank will know these transaction codes.

Since then on, as long as the rebates is not too far off from my calculation, I can't be bothered anymore. It is frustrating to see that my calculation and the actual rebate always do not tally (actual rebate is always lower) and I can't be bothered to call them every month to check which transactions are excluded.

Anyway from October, it is time to say goodbye and move on from FRANK.

Dear OCBC,

Can a single individual own 2 separate Bonus+ Accounts?

And if not, can an individual hold a Single + a Joint account at the same time?

Dear blendgend,

An individual is able to own 2 separate Bonus + Accounts, as well as a single and a joint account at the same time.

Do note that all account openings are subject to the bank’s approval.

Hi jjjcc,

Utility bills do not count towards the $400 minimum requirement spend. The $400 minimum spend requires $400 worth of offline retail transactions.

For more information, please visit http://www.frankbyocbc.com/assets/p...e-FRANK-CashRebates-Rewards-Programme-Oct.pdf

Thank you.

Hi OCBC,

Just a quick question, for OCBC 365 / Frank card, does the payment of insurance premium or investment transactions counts towards the minimum spendings?

Thanks in advance

Hi blendgend,

We are sorry if our branch colleagues may have misinformed you or provided you with inaccurate info.

Customers may open up multiple Bonus Plus Savings accounts, in single or joint names. However, the initial deposit has to be in the form of fresh funds whether Single or Joint.

If you met the criteria, do let us know so that we may check with them.

Hi Firzenn,

Generally, the payment of insurance premium and investment transactions to brokerages count towards minimum spend.

Do note that for the FRANK credit card, the minimum spend is required to be that of an offline transaction.
