This is getting on my nerves...

1. Late charge waiver requires 10 days for an appeal / request to be processed

Fine, Submitted my request on 06/02/16, (automated voice system says it will take 5 working days) called today for an update, and no records? / outcome?

CSO suggested to submit an appeal so now I have to wait another 5 days for the outcome, which by then is the 21st, (interbank transfer takes 3 days) and then late for payment again because they could not find the 1st waiver request.

Tried explaining this logic to the CSO but I guess he couldn't see it. He told me I can decide to pay after the outcome on the 21st. Which, really? Thats the solution I get?

2. Interbank transfer takes 3 days but OCBC won't allow for 3 days buffer for payment. The irony.

Hi Joel_l,

Payment must be received by the due date in order to avoid late and interest charges. If you are paying by other banks' Internet Banking, it will take around 1 to 3 business days to process. This information can be found on our website (https://www.ocbc.com/personal-banking/help-and-support/credit-cards.html) under - Credit Card Payment Channels.

In order to avoid incurring further late and interest charges, do ensure that full payment is received by the bank before the due date. Should your appeal be successful, the amount will be credited into your credit card account.

Could you drop us a PM with your contact details? We would like to share your comment with the service executive who is assisting you with the appeal.

Do you have accounts with other banks?

It is a standard banking protocol that has been implemented for some time to verify that you are the right client.

I don't see how anyone can try to scam out of your NRIC, birthday, mother's maiden name or DOB information. The most those pranksters can do is to sing you a song on your birthday?

Just saw this. Those "sing you a song on your birthday" information are valuable if you are a targeted victim of social engineering.

Just saw this comment too and feel that it's foolishly contradicting.
if NRIC, birthday, mother's maiden name or DOB information were unimportant information, why would the bank choose to ask these questions as "standard protocol"?

You take on a little bit of risk if you are plan to use the phone banking, internet and social media.

The safest option so as not to be a target is to stop using the internet altogether.

Another option to minimize risk is to stop posting indecent photos on social media.

Maybe you should opt out of phone banking if you want to be 100% certain assuming it is possible to opt out. Go down to the branch yourself to deal with every transaction.

Your close friend can be a kidnapper, he knows your mother's maiden name or DOB information easily.

Or maybe you can suggest to them to avoid these common questions and store the answers to alternative questions like "How many times of sex do you do in a week?" or "What is your favorite sex position?".

Basically i can just call your mobile from home (private number) saying I'm from OCBC. Then i ask the questions. Then i call ocbc and say I'm you, answer all the questions, change your mobile number to mine so that i can get all the otp and you are done.

Taking risk is not the same as being reckless with your information.

Anyway, it's your own information and you are free to disseminate it as you deem fit :)

And the safest option so as not to be a target is "stay poor"... hahaha

Tell us which bank allows us to change the mobile number through phone?

A database company already has all your information readily.

And when you fill up a lucky draw coupon, you are giving up more information than DOB and NRIC. Don't tell me you don't fill them up?

Is there a change in ibanking interface for OCBC? When I login, it is showing me some product information for unit trust under Lion Global. Previously I would be shown the banking summary page when first login.

Hi there,

Could you drop us a PM with a screenshot of the ad you're seeing on your Internet Banking?

Thank you.

Hi drsubaru,

Monthly Limit for funds transfer are:

$300K - 3rd Party Funds Transfer

$300K - MEPS

$300K - TT (Online Remittance)

$200K - eNETS

$100K - Pay Any Card

This is applicable to all accounts.

^DG

Suppose this 300k monthly limit has been exceeded. Does this mean that the account has been frozen and we cannot withdraw anymore? Are there ways to take out money, never mind the inconvenience?

Hi there klarklar & Whisper

Those are online security limits, and that's the maximum limit monthly. Once you've hit the limit for the month, you can always visit any one of our branches to perform a transfer.

These limits have nothing to do with your ATM withdrawal limits though. That's separate

You can change your online or Internet Banking daily transfer limits, under the "Customer Service" option on the top of the screen. Please note though, this is can only be done on a desktop view via labtop/ PC.

Hope this explanation helps!
