Hi makav31i, the promotion is up to Dec 2013 for now. We are currently reviewing whether to extend the promotion and will announce it soon. Hope this helps clarify!

Hi,

I am a current holder of a Fairprice PLUS! account with a PLUS! debit card. If i open a new OCBC Frank account, will my current debit card be tagged to that new frank account also?

Hi there. Thank you for your support. However, the Frank account does not have the feature that allows it to be linked to your existing Plus Debit Card. Thanks again!

I am fresh grad. I am making $3500 / month, take home $2800. Then I also give tuition, so it's another extra $1000, which means in total I bring home about $3800 / month.

I am thinking of locking away $800/month either to invest or to save, whichever brings in more money.

I read somewhere that standchard is very good, their fee for their blue chip investment plan is very low. I duno anything lah. Which bank should I sign up to get more money ah?

SCB is online brokering account and Blue Chip Investment Plan is OCBC, different things.

Also, why are you asking about SCB in Team OCBC thread hahaha :s22:

Thanks for the reply. So i will be getting a new debit card right?

Then is it possible to disable the debitcard feature of the new card and use it as a ATM card only? Do you have any other solutions for this, basically if i want a frank account with an ATM card linked only is it possible?

Hi there. You can go to any of our branches to request for our ATM card instead of the Frank Debit Card to be linked to your Frank account. Thank you!

Hi Boorseye, thanks for your suggestion on inclusion of the SPDR ETF. We assume you are referring to the SPDR STI ETF? You might want to note that the Nikko AM ETF also provides exposure to the STI index as the SPDR STI ETF. Nevertheless, we’ll consider your suggestion when we next review the share counters.

Based on what I understand from your explanation, if a customer were to have the unfortunate fate of always getting less than 0.5 shares fraction every month, his actual shares will always get rounded down?

Over a long period of time he would be paying more than he should? That's not exactly fair right? :(

((Sorry. If anyone understood the explanation differently from me, please re-elaborate for me thanks :s11:))

Hi nanotard, every month we will round up fractional shares of 0.5 and above, and round down fractional shares below 0.5. Since prices move at random, there are chances of getting rounded up as well.

Hi Richelle,

SPDR seems to be doing better in terms of lower management fees and higher liquidity as compared to Nikko am STI etf 100

Hi there.

Yes, you will need an OCBC account for BCIP to facilitate the GIRO of your monthly investments. There is a minimum balance applicable to the deposit account only, and depends on the type of deposit account you choose.

For BCIP, there is a minimum monthly investment of S$100 per counter per month. Do remember to ensure that your OCBC account has sufficient funds 2 business days before the GIRO deduction date on 15th every month. If 15th is not a business day, the deduction will be made one business day prior to the 15th.

You can apply for BCIP either via OCBC Online Banking, or mail us the completed application form with the required documents. To access the application form, visit www.ocbc.com/bluechip.

Hope this helps!

Would like to clarify . So if I create a monthly savings account . Initially I won't need any initial deposit . But I would have to deposit at least $50 / month and if I were to create a BCIP account , $100 / month . Thus a total of $150 / month . And if I were to go down to one of your office , I don't have to bring any cash with me ? Am I right to say this.

Thanks a lot! :D

Hi there. We are sorry to inform you that the Monthly Savings account is not an eligible account for the monthly contribution for BCIP. You may refer to the following link for more information on the other savings/current accounts offered by the bank: Bank Accounts | Savings Accounts | OCBC. Thank you!

Hi Whisper,

We’re very sorry for embarrassing you! You will need to tap on the readers on public transportation such as MRT and buses to trigger the auto top-up. We’ve also sent you a private message. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi! I noticed that the FRANK credit card can also be used as an EZ link card. So if I actually top it up at the EZ link machine, when I tap it to enter MRT station, will I be paying by EZ link or by nets flashpay?

Hi there. The OCBC Frank credit card comes with the Nets Flashpay feature which works like the EZ link. If you top up the Nets Flashpay on your card, you can then use it like an EZ link card. Thank you.
