One more qns, one of the criteria for LTVP is that the sponsor need to provide letter of employment WITHIN 1 MONTH from issue date. How do I go about doing that?

I have an employment contract but its 2 mths liao.

Ask your company hr to give you a letter of employment. Attached with your employment contract and submit

Will ICA do a background check on my highest education with my employer?

Hello, I am 54 yrs old Singaporean lady currently working as a Personal Assistant with an international company in Singapore.

20 years ago, I put on my job application form that I obtained O level certificate but in fact I only completed secondary one education.

I’m applying LTVP+ for my foreign husband and the ICA has requested for my school leaving qualification.

My question, will the ICA run a background check with my employer when they see my highest qualification and earning S$5k a month?

Feels miserable and I understand the consequences are coming back to me but I desperately need this job and really need to apply the LTVP for my husband at the same time.

Your advice is much appreciated.

Dun worry application with ICA and job interviews are different matters.

Just be honest on Govt. applications and should not be any issue as you are contributing taxes to the country. They would not check with your employer

Pre Marriage LTVP Rejected (Even though great criteria)

Hi All, sorry to jump in here. I have a question.

My SO is a SC (F, 30) and Im from Europe(male, 33).
Been living and working in Singapore for for 8 years on an EP.
I work in very well paying, respected job, while my SO makes 2.9k.

We should fulfill ALL the criteria for a LTVP?!? But its been rejected.

In addition, my brother has been in Singapore for 10 years as a director of a Forbes 50 company and is struggling with his PR (2x rejected).

My question is, is it possible to contact/visit the ICA investigators and find out where they actually have a problem with our application? Possible it could be a small error on our part?

here's my personal opinions.

1. there is absolutely no way ICA will give you a reason for rejection

2. Like the word suggests, LTVP is meant for dependant. Obviously your spouse's salary is not substantial to support you financially. and you're doing well on EP on your own. Hence ICA may have decided you do not NEED LTVP, not that you do not meet the criteria.

3. Singapore has closed its PR floodgate. currently the main successful applicants are Malaysian Chinese (because they blend in easily with the locals) who served at least 2 tax cycles. if your brother has SC child, he might have a chance. As a director of fortune 50 company i bet he has to work overseas frequently? that is another negative factor for ICA. ICA will think such overqualified foreigners will leave SG once they have their chances.

p/s: i've recently successfully applied LTVP+ and PR successfully for my wife

this year is her 6th year.
applied PR last year.. (normal waiting time around 9months-1year)
while waiting, applied ltvp+ and got it
then pr approved

about 2-3 years ago applied pr but was rejected. 2nd try was successful i guess mainly because we got a sc child.

Coz my wife is from indonesia and she is currently holding LTVP for 1st year and she going to deliver our 1st baby in July (SC child). Do you think i shld try to apply PR for her just after our baby born? By the way, this year is the 2nd year of her staying in SG...

I believe your brother may still be single,he can keep applying again.
for you.....why don't you apply for SPR first? I don't see any logic changing a EP to LTVP

immigration floodgate has closed for years
nowadays SPR approval getting rarer and rarer
current SPR convert to SC also slow down, max 20k a year only

ultimately It's someone's work able to contribute to social building, and family networking in SG and give birth to SC kids here.

for all of you with SC kids, pls try to apply again much better chance to get. if still fails pls go to see MP seek help. SG door is always open to those truthfully sincere to join:)

i personally agreed with the comment below. if no rush. better to wait till you have sc child if you have no reason for the rush. having sc child is a very important factor. it's only 4 more months to go. (also.. congrats!)

u have high chance but of course not guarantee will get pr. like everyone said, PR floodgate is closed. if you have good income and been working for long, it will be higher chance.

btw.. my wife is from japan.

hi all, I've been unemployed since Oct 2020 and currently enrolled in SGUS course. Just found out my foreign spouse is pregnant, she has been working for about 3 years+... Is it very hard to get LTVP+ if I'm not working?

are you a SC or SPR?
I think just apply and wait for ICA to approve
given the COVID travel ban I think ICA won't make your life difficult

SC here...my wife haven't even got LTVP yet still a WP holder. Now headache on which hospital to choose. Btw, foreigners choose public or private also not much difference from what I read(cos not eligible for subsidies), is that true? e.g KKH vs TMC

yes not much diff. non-SC/SPR pays full fee everywhere.
I'd suggest you to go ahead quickly for her SPR. see any O&G dr get a memo written about her pregnancy details send in to ICA together hopefully they can expedite the SPR approval. then in public hosp may still get some subsidy:) all the best

Hi there, congrats on your wife pregnancy.
Ya, there is no diff for foreigner to see gynae at private or public hosp like KKH but i would suggest you to apply LTVP for your wife and she confirm will get LTVP+ since she is pregnant and do not forget to "check" the box tat asking whther is your wife pregnant on the application form. And do not forget to bring along the EDD cert when attending the formality.

and yes, if you choose to go KKH, you wife is under private rate and can only choose either class A1 ward or B1 ward with foreigner rate. but once u get LTVP+, you will get some subsidize rate like PR for the gynae visiting fees and the delivery package/charge will follow PR rate too (but still, u can only choose either class A1 (single bed) or B1 (4 bedded).

you may PM me if u wan to know more coz my wife is holding LTVP b4 pregnant and i quickly renew her pass again once get to know she is pregnant and she got the LTVP+.

cheers.
