Why got glycation in arteries
Glycation happens when there is constant chronic elevated blood sugar.

Glycation don't just happen in arteries....it happens throughout the body. Capillaries are usually the first to take the hit since they are the smallest in size and most numerous.

Organs/body parts with alot of capilliaries....kkj...fingers....toes....kidneys...skin.....notice that all these are body parts that diabetics have issues with....
trouble getting it up...
fingers n toes getting numb....
kidney numbers not looking healthy...
darkened skin especially armpits, back of neck, groin area...
in advanced cases....skin having trouble healing after getting cut...

wow didn't know high LDL can be downgraded in pes.

My highest LDL was 5.42 in 2020.
Last lab test in 2023 was 3.3.

Only two ways to lower I think, take medications or take food that lower them.
also need to test bloodwork whether you are a Hyper Absorber ? ( in SG difficult to test as not standard test ).

My total chlorestrol and LDL went up couple if years after I got married and moved out and had all meals outside. Had my 1st full health screen in 2014, total cholesterol 5.9mmol, LDL was 3.85mmol. Went down a little (no change in my diet or lifestyle) when I took my blood test 2 years later but still high. Start eating oats and it went down to borderline.

In year 2020, shoot up again (I guess I ate too much chips during covid), no choice have to eat statin and change my diet.

Late last year doc advised me to change medication since simvastatin doesn't seem to help me. The new one seems better, less than a month already start to lower my chlorestrol readings.

I started LF (skip breakfast), low carb diet, brought my own lunch to work in 2019, not sure if that affect my chlorestrol but definitely lack of Vit B.
How do you know that you lack of vit B? Any symptoms? Can share?

5.59 for LDL, 7.65 for total cholesterol was tested during HSP during 2017. I also got down pes for one of the year due to high cholesterol but I can't remember which year.

Can't remembered my weight but it should be lesser than 70kg, 174cm and I was on low carb diet that time. I was using LC to reduce weight during 2016 and the weight came off quite easily but the cholesterol was tested to be high during the annual check up. The cholesterol went up even higher during the HSP during 2017.

Realised saturated fats spiked up my cholesterol/LDL but I did a few more testing. During HSP in 2018, the LDL dropped to 4.54, just by eating less saturated fats.

HSP during 2019, LDL dropped to 3. Throughout the journey, all achieved with diet changes. For me, it's less saturated fats since I'm a hyper responder to saturated fats and less meat. But everyone body is different so what works for me, may not necessarily works for you.

My recommendation is to read widely. Don't get lured in by the claims of a certain best diet, or food. Be willing to take more frequent tests to check if certain changes to diet works or not. Lipid test is pretty cheap. Lastly, be strict in your food intake. Eating healthy 5 days and then indulge yourself with fried food over the weekend just defeats the whole purpose of trying to heal yourself through diet changes.

I stop taking medication since 2019. (used to take Lipitor but stop due to side effects like muscle pain etc).

The above time frame is how long I took thru food choices.

I am still "work in progress" still experimenting on myself.

I am also a T2D so even some food choices maybe good but may not be blood glucose friendly so I need more effort compared to a normal person.

Definitely for me, taking Ippt is not my first priority for getting my LDL lower ;)

I’m not concern abt ippt haha , I trying to say 4.9 is at at a better point. I’m more concern with my health. The sudden risk of heart attack and stroke at this age …

Since you are concern about risk of heart attack and stroke , I have posted a graph of LDL levels and Atherosclerosis in another thread, if your are interested to know where you stand , below is the link to that graph in the other thread :-

Want low ldl just have to watch your diet
No fried stuff, no oily and high saturated fats, no sugar
Accidentally Tiny little bit quarterly
Only olive, sesame, avocado oil
No magic, just you diet
