I also found no options to side load apps on this andriod 10 TV which is strange
any idea?
so far the experience had been disappointing.
without the option to side load application, without google playstore, Voice control i have to press the microphone button on the remote control to open youtube.... i might as well directly press the youtube button right?

It runs on VIDAA not Android. The only issue with the OS I had is the media player cannot see webm files at all, only can see mp4 files. Otherwise Netflix and Youtube and Disney+ works fine, but there's hardly any other useful apps. The OS is super snappy though, switching apps is near instant, overall better than any other proprietary ones I tried, and better response than Android TV.

I changed the webm file extension to mp4 and the build-in player can play all the 4k wemb files, so no issue with the codes, just no idea why it cannot see the wemb container. Only hassle is the need to rename the webm files. Both USB ports can power 4TB HDD to play videos and as a PVR.

After nearly a month of use, it is great to see 4K gaming from the PC, 4K videos from Mi Box S/ realme TV stick. Especially love the 4:4:4 RRB mode, the text is perfect and outputs WCG and HDR. 24fps blu-rays are excellent with no judder at all. But I still need to use the Mi Box S to run remote Steam.

There's some display artifacts but not an issue. It's only there if purposely looking for it.

Hisense seems to have set up shop in Shopee and Lazada. Anyone bought?

Reviews seem positive.

Hisense Singapore's Rep has informed some of us that they will be bringing in the U.S 2022 TV line up this year and that they are preparing to offer the U7H model first while the higher end models should be available mid 2022.

See their claim here:
All CES model will be available this year
Yes, we will bring this the 2022 new model U7H which will relace the current U8G in US.
Native 120Hz refresh rate.
15 Mar, 19:32
Pre-order will be available soon :)
Will it be the US Version?
Yes, we also would like to match with US version. Most of reviews are from US.
Now we are doing certificate

We follow Europe series last year 😬

UPDATE (25/03/2022):
[10:35 AM, 3/25/2022] Our TVs are manufactured in China.

It's hard to say whether this is similar to Europe because different countries' HQ have different requirements for their TVs.
[10:36 AM, 3/25/2022] For example, in US, they usually only provide 1 year warranty.
Usually US version is special, not us. actually we Singapore, Australia, UK and some European country use the same version.
It seems that there might be some misinformation given from the Hisense SG Rep via Shopee last week, as this week I'm told a different thing via their official whatsapp contact. The sets might not be the exact US variants after all. For the moment I'll strike off the U.S TV Line up above.

If this is so then the reviews from RTINGs will not be relevant again as is the case for the past years since they are reviewing the U.S Variants while we are not getting those here.

Hopefully the HDMI 2.1 features such as 4K 120hz and VRR are implemented with minimal issues and that the 4K halve resolution issues which affected TVs from multiple brands (Sony X900H, X85J, Panasonic JZ1000 etc) caused by the Mediatek processors last year (2021) have been resolved.

We'll have to wait for the reviews from RTINGs, HDTVTest and other reputable reviewers to confirm that the above issue has been resolved in the new 2022 lineup.

Companies can claim they are the exact same as what's offered elsewhere, so be advised to double check once they are made available here, cross check with the U.S variant specs. Wait for RTINGs to review these models as well if you wish to know how it performs against TVs from other brands as they use a consistent test methodology with proper tools and equipment.

You have to ask yourself if 1500 for a 65" LED TV is cheap.
How bright and how good is the picture compared to a more mainstream brand or other online brands..

I hope the real deal version makes it here and for a competitive price.
Agreed. I hope they mean what they say and they use the exact same VA panels and offer the same features in the US variants. Best not to order until we can confirm and cross check on these once they are made available.

The Hisense U7H 65" model is actually out for pre-order already. The price is much higher than the U7G. The main difference is the HDMI 2.1 that support native 120hz refresh rate. There is also improved processor, brightness and contrast ratio according to the specs. Still under Vidaa OS though..

You getting a lot of visual technologies with the U7G compared to mainstreams brands costing a lot more. If you not sure what or how to use those technologies, better off to save quite a bit with the lower A7 or others instead.

Also while Hisense is not mainstream here but I just knew it has been in US for over 10 years, looking at the amazon user reviews. The 2019 sets onwards appear to go after the higher end mainstram brands.

My short answer is the picture quality is excellent. And the sound quality is much above average too that I didn't bother to hook up the old soundbar (coming from longtime user of Triluminos and S-Force, and the excellent sound of ancient Toshiba Regza TVs).

Only remaining question is the durability.

The Native Contrast Ratio on the Singapore Spec Sheet is 1600:1. That's IPS territory. VA should be 3000:1 minimum or way higher. The TV also looks different from the US version, based on Digital Trends video in the first post.

Additionally it is advertise to have Ultra Wide Viewing Angle which can be 2 things. They are using an IPS panel OR a Wide Viewing Angle Filter to increase Viewing Angles of a VA panel at the cost of Contrast Ratio.
Though even if they were to be using a Filter on a VA Panel, it should not dip below 2000:1 as we've seen in similar TVs using Wide Angle Filters on a VA Panel.

Example of VA Panel's Contrast Ratio with Wide Viewing Angle Filter (Sony X95J):

SG Spec Page: https://hisense.sg/product/u7h-65-uled-smart-gaming-tv/

If it is truly a VA panel than it can be quite a record, to impact Contrast Ratio so negatively. The U7G SG Variant has higher Native Contrast Ratio than the new U7H. We don't know what will Contrast Ratio be once Local Dimming is enabled, but its best to wait for RTINGs to review it and not depend on spec sheets for that.

Pre-order listing already up on Lazada for the U7H SG variant. ETA May 2022. SGD$1399 for 55' when the US variant equivalent goes for USD$799 so thats a $300 markup for an inferior product. Errrr....no thank you Hisense SG!!!

At their asking price for U7H 65", I can top up $100-$150 more to get the bigger U7G 75". (around $18XX with Lazada coupons)

The main usage will be Netflix/Prime/YouTube at 4K/HDR. Since I have no need for 120hz, should I go for the bigger but older model?

Based off their spec sheets, yes it seems the U7G is better since 120hz and HDMI 2.1 isn't your priority and especially when the contrast ratio is 4000:1 compared to the 1600:1 on the U7H that alone is pretty disappointing if we compare it to not only the U7G but other brands at the similar price point. I'm curious if the Local Dimming implementation could save the U7H and boost contrast significantly, but we'll never know since RTINGs and HDTVTest are unlikely to review this variant.

IMO they should have named these TVs differently instead as it can cause confusion and mislead people regardless if the variant is better or worse. Imagine people in the US seeing reviews of the SG or Europe variants while some of us see reviews of the US variants thinking they are all the same TV. A recipe for buyer's remorse and return/refunds. 🤷‍♂️
