Hi All, We had 5 adults. When I search for 5 persons, I can't get much choice due to mostly 1 room max 2 person or family room for 4.
Can I book for 2 room for 4 person or 1 family room for 4 and check in with 5 person? Will the hotel refuse the 5th person ?
of cos the hotel has the right to reject the 5th person if you have booked the room for 4 pax only.

i never understand why some would like to have 4 to 5 pax in a room with only one bathroom. if one person takes 20 mins to get ready every morning, it will take at least 100 mins before everyone is ready. even if one person takes 10 mins to get ready, it will take an hour before everyone is ready.

We stayed before previously 5 in a room at TPE. All of us get ready quite fast.. Problem is that I put 5 for 2 room and no much option. Of cause if can get 2 room will be better but always max 2 per room.

Hi all, any recco for 5 adults 2 room in Myeongdong?

I checked Lotte City Hotel Myeongdong offers for max 3 adults on superior room. When booking from their official website, you can choose up to 3 adults as family twin and room size is 25 sqm. I don't know how bed layout works, but you can ask them.
From official website https://www.lottehotel.com/myeongdong-city/en/rooms.html/
Another room is deluxe family twin room, 34sqm,consists of one double and one single bed as shown below.

If looking at Hongdae, some of the good options (my opinion)

[Holiday Inn Express Hongdae] - the rooms are quite small, but very clean. Comes with free breakfast which is really simple, but decent and nothing to complain about. Location is good. Near the stop for the airport express and located at the intersection of Hongdae and yeonnam (one of the current hotspots of Seoul). But the pricing is quite strange at times, I will say if it’s less than a 100k krw, it’s a good price.

[L7 Hongdae] - the lounge at 21st level is cool. Nice place to relax and enjoy the view. The bar at the top is also good, though the drinks price are a little expensive for a 4 star hotel. The swimming pool is really famous, but closed for winter. Room wise is larger and nicer than holiday inn express, but like above, can get quite noisy on lower levels. Love their malin goetz toiletries too. Do note that L7 does not have room service. Location wise, right beside Hongdae station, about 5-10 mins walk to yeonnam. About 10mins walk from Hongdae airport line.

[Ryse] Much more expensive than the rest. But much fancier lol. Breakfast is ala carte though. Very design centric and gym is quite nice. Rooftop bar is good but a little expensive. Has a bakery Tartine on the first level which is one of my favourite bakery in Seoul. Room service available. Abit further than L7 from Hongdae station, but not by much (1-2mins?). But that also means it’s closer to the neighbourhood of Sangsu (10mins walk) which is another new hotspot in Seoul with all kinds of cafes and restaurant - if that is your thing.

[Mercure Hongdae] - Very new hotel and quite design centric. Opposite L7, so in terms of location it’s the same. Rooms quite standard though they have the amazing junior suite rooms which has an open air bathtub, quite cool. But I think that room is pretty exp - around 300k krw. Overall, unless u book junior suite room, or have Accor membership for breakfast, I think I will prefer L7, considering their price is around the same.
Mercure also got noise issue, I think the bhc chicken or another shop blasts their music from morning to late, so there's noise even for the back lane facing rooms

Any hotels or Airbnb to recommend near to everland or Lottie theme park?

Dont recommend Airbnb.
Too many spycams esp in Korea

Lotte world is in Seoul so almost any Seoul hotel would do.
I think there is the super high end Lotte Signiel right across the street
There is also Lotte Hotel world at the same location

As for Everland, not so sure.
It is about 1 to 1.5hrs south of Seoul, can do as a daytrip

To be fair... i think last time they also caught pple planting spycams in budget and some popular hotels... but never say which one though... anyway i bought those detect spycam device for my korea trip... tested on my own house CCTV... it works... u can see the reflected infra light if there is a camera lens hidden somewhere...

Any hotels or Airbnb to recommend near to everland or Lottie theme park?

No point staying near Everland unless u want to spend more than 1 day there to minimize travelling... same for Lotte World... no need to stay near Lotte World as transportation to Jamsil Station quite convenient...

Most pple will stay nearer to Myeongdong or Dongdaemum for the shopping... or Hongdae...

From Myeongdong to Everland... abt 1.30h by private transport...

From Myeongdong to Lotte World... abt 45mins by metro...

U can download either Kakao Map or Naver Map for Korea navigation... Google map doesn't work there...

Just go and check out Everland website... see if their rides and zoo interests u... if not can skip... the roller coaster there quite popular... queue almost 2 hours...

For the zoo portion... they have a bus/train ride that goes into the zoo... and the staff inside the bus will feed the giraffes vegetables... the giraffe will stick their heads inside the bus through every window... very close encounter with them... but they will yell at you not to touch them if u try to...

I am using both Google map and Naver Map. I find Google map easier to search probably bcos I am used to it. However, sometimes Google map will recommend routes that make you walk a lot. That's when I would switch to Naver map.

Any recommendations on where to stay in Myeongdong? First timer and I've heard some "horror" stories about some hotels having "very slow lifts", and "thermostats not working" issues (I need my aircon if not I'll melt). Going to visit during their summer time in early Aug. Currently looking at Four Points by Sheraton Josun, Seoul Myeongdong.

This Sheraton seems not bad.
Location is close to subway n Myeongdong.
Doesnt seem will be noisy.
Can earn Marriott pts.

Ive stayed at Metro Hotel.
It is also near subway n at the edge of Myeongdong but rooms are tiny.

L7 Myeongdong is nice too.
Basic hotel and can have Namsam views n earn Lotte pts.

Anyone stayed at Crown Park Hotel Seoul? Within my budget but not as close to subway like L7.
