Very hard to forget after that

Some is like recalling a picture
Some is with certain prominent string of numbers that appear elsewhere in my fields of interest
Some is by mnemonic (sounding like a certain phrase when strung together)

But for most, still by rote memorisation. Keep recalling and using them repeatedly, eventually they'll leave an imprint.

If you want a highly efficient way, do major system. Turn every number into a visual representation or similar sounding.

e.g. 98851350

98 = Jiu ba ( Chinese ) = meaning bar
85 = Bao Wu ( Chinese ) = meaning treasure
13 = yu san ( Chinese ) = meaning umbrella
50 = Wu Ling ( Chinese) = meaning martial world.

so picture in a bar, a fat man with a treasure head, long hand and legs, is taking the umbrella decorated with sharp knife and trust it to the man who looks like he just come out of the Wu Xia novel.

you don’t have to remember the number, just remember the visual as if you were there to witness the odd events.

When you need the number back, just decode it.
bar = jiu ba = 98
Treasure = Bao Wu = 85
Umbrella = yu san = 13
The martial artist = wu Xia = Wu ling = 50

Numbers are abstract so it will be harder to remember but visual is a lot easier.

I realised it is easier when u are young. When u r old. No matter what u want to remember u forget. So the best is write it down on a 555 note pad like GCT used to do.

The numbers u can remember should be from 20 to 1. They will ask u when they suspect u dont have mental capacity

It does take elaborated efforts to encode and decode. Maybe it’s just a matter of familiarity and adopting the habit. I think for majority of people, spatial and visual events are still much easier to remember than abstract terms and numbers. Imo
