I never have any religion. Explored Christianity before but never found the faith to leap right into it

Can't say I'm unhappy though

when something bad happened in the family, it will be very difficult to keep oneself happy.

when something hard hit you permanently, happiness is gone forever.

For me,
1. I listen to music everyday. It calms the mind and brings me to another world instantly.

2. Do not compare with more successful people.

3. Keeping my thoughts - all the time - on positive things, e.g. plan where to eat, find a thing that is going well to indulge in, like playing Pickleball etc

4. Long term, embracing a religion and knowing my purpose in life.

The mind is the BIGGEST enemy. Usually the circumstance is not that dire. Just that our minds make us think it is.

Appreciate what you have today.
You may not have it tomorrow.
Everything is temporary.

When unhappy just watch the YouTube channel with many local car accident and kuku drivers. See their car got damage and need to pay a lot of money, feel very happy

Being alone brings you back past unhappy memory. You can't bear to hear your own inner voice?

I basically
  • Stop hanging out with toxic people.
  • Read and watch my favourite genres in books, movies and animes.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • Try out new things occasionally e.g. I recently took a trial class in boxing.
  • Pay more attention to skincare and health i.e. self care
  • Do jigsaw puzzles.
These days, learning to be happy alone is a skill that many people lack.

I think point 2 is most important..
Without social media in the past, most Singaporeans seem happy..

Of cos, if a person is easily contented it would help.

Some people say self-contentment is not good as it means an individual will not be driven.. but what is important to someone might not be important to another...
