Repairing HP Touchpad in Singapore

Does anyone know where I can get my TouchPad repaired in locally besides HP technical support?

The battery has gone dead - I tried recharging it but it still cannot switch on, even with the usual trick of pressing the On and Center button at the same time for 30 seconds.

I called up the local HP support center but because I bought the device in the US they said I have to send it back to the US to have it fixed. They said they will not accept it even if I'm willing to pay for to have it fixed :( :frus:

Plus I have already loaded CyanogenMod onto the device; so I don't know if HP US will even repair it since this would void their warranty.

The question is is it really charging? In my case, the micro-usb cable that comes with the TP is spoil. So cannot charge at all. Actually it can still charge using other micro-usb charger, like those for my SGS2. It's slow but it will charge up eventually.

For ICS, anyone encounter email problem. I cannot access the email app at all. Gives me "Unfortunately, Email has stopped"

Press and hold your power and home button together, it should reset and start charging. That happens because you left it uncharged for too long.

Buy a spare battery from ebay.
Then follow these steps.

For those who are having problems with turning on the touchpad, i suggest calibrating your battery whenever you flash a new rom. I suspect it could be due to the battery. Search for app battery calibration on market.

for anyone who does ICS, recommended to set the default boot as webOS. there's been a few cases (mine included) where ICS won't charge. nothing wrong with the cable/charger, but ICS simply refuse to charge.

Is it a difficult process? :o

Not too difficult, but expect to some time reading the instructions from cyanogenmod and rootzwiki website and you can also refer to the youtube link posted earlier in this thread

Totally worth it, I think, now almost never use webOS

Not hard, just read forums and follow instructions.

I'm stuck onto my ICS CM9 Alpha2 on the touchpad but actually if you've updated to webOS 3.0.5, webOS becomes a very viable OS for daily usage, the interface is really nice and silky smooth, especially after preware OC + patches. Heck, its already nice and smooth before doing all the preware and OC stuff, but I just did it since I can. Lol.

Previously, WebOS 3.0.3 was really laggy and a hassle to use, although I really like webOS' interface. Now I have a reason to use webOS. Not to mention in 3.0.5, the keyboard becomes super pleasant to type with, better than android.
