Is the on screen keyboard really that bad? I'm gonna buy this phone tml at itechmobile trading in my dream. So far i've seen problem about network and the keyboard hmm..

It's just kinda squeezed together due to the smaller screen, needs some time to get used to. Or you can get various keyboard apps on the android marketplace which supposedly helps to resolve this problem.

some random thoughts on the phone so far ....

monday (today) is free starhub mobile tv time. just tried it on my legend, looks good. there is still a slight audio lag but not as obvious as the milestone i tested at vivocity.

the youtube video on legend also looks better than milestone.

regarding outdoor wifi, tried wireless@sg at coffee bean Ion orchard yest. the signal is bad. going from 1 bar to no bar (disconnected). this is one test at one location, so nothing conclusive yet. even if it is legend "fault", i think it can addressed by firmware update later.

using my netbook wifi to test, different wireless@sg locations can have very different performance. for example, at some places it is horribly slow, but inside Bishan library, super fast and stable.

at home, my starhub mobile internet connection (not wifi) is good and stable so far. i stay at central area and high level.

no doubt the snapdragon 1 gb phones will have faster performance. but you are paying a higher premium for it and the slight difference in loading speed is not really that critical for most pple i guess - e.g. does it matter a lot if your game and browser loads 1-2 seconds faster? i would rather trade that speed for a better value phone like legend and a much more stunning look, design and feel.

to quote a review i read online - "it FEELS expensive". the moment i hold it in my hands for the first time at the M1 android conference, i know it is destined to be my next phone. haha.

i recommend pple to get it from starhub or singtel so that they can watch tv channels on their phone and maximise their experience from their phone. it is quite a waste getting a AMOLED screen but cant watch mobile tv on it.

M1 should seriously lower their price more to be competitive or offer more monthly savings. there is good chance the mobile tv war between singtel and starhub will even drive prices lower or free with 2 year contract in time to come.

btw tried the free game Fishin' to go Lite, quite fun coz it make use of the motion sensor, touch screen and audio feedback to catch a fish. just be careful not to "cast" your rod too hard else you will be forced to find out how tough is your unibody aluminium phone. lol

battery life is about the same as most touch screen smart phones - need to charge everyday. can buy spare battery if need. i like the power adapter head design - can dismantle into 2 pieces. very good for portability and travelling.

i am not sure if miotv on mobile is supported on Legend. pls check with singtel. have not been a singtel mobile user for decades.

Shopalong - I came from the 1 Ghz snapdragon Nexus 1. I can safely said that the Legend has virtually no lag compared to the Nexus 1 esp when swiping across screens. At times, my Nexus was sluggish in the transition.

So far my gripe abt Legend is the wifi/network reception in my home and the screen resolution. Why can't they just pack the same nexus screen into the Legend? Otherwise, I like the look and feel of the phone.

Got cut off twice from M1..Have to power off n on to get the signal back..
Was at airport,only happen once with my nexus..
Removed the task killer as advised by a forum member,haven't happen again since..mayb new phone,software yet to get updates from market..

Other than tat,batt gd enough for me..
1 hr 3g internet,30mins video,30mins music..
play with the function for 2hr..few sms,5 mins call..
20% now aft 24hrs..Hope the last 20% is usage..

The battery life seems pretty reasonable, but still the connection issue still a problem for me to get the phone.

Hehe... true true. The Desire is just bland - much like the nexus. This is my opinion only. With the delays in UK for the Desire, not too sure what problems Desire has, if any.

saw swiping videos of n1 and legend. cant see any speed diff. but load internet sure got diff but slight only.

now legend set the design bar so high, dunno what they do to replace it in the future. full metallic wrap around and mega strong antenna? lol.

yea. screen size smaller a bit than iphone. but becoz of this, very pocket friendly. 0.3 inch smaller for better pocketability and amoled screen is a trade off i m willing to take. anyway, iphone 3gs cost almost double in my case. i really like the legend's pull down notification feature.

going down to mobile square later to get the martin fields protector.

Not all free.. Channels will have the word free splash across if it is free.

thanks for the info. unless it is a technical issue which i doubt it is, it is quite stupid marketing wise not to show all channels. if you want to tempt your customer to subscribe, why only show a few and not all?

but for once, i give credit to starhub for the user interface design. it is really good and intuitive. unlike the current Telescope webpage. what a mess. scroll here and there and everywhere. i still prefer the old telescope. control click select channels and list them out quickly top to bottom.

Bro, I am referring to the resolution la. I am perfectly fine with the screen size. Wish it has the same screen resolution as milestone or nexus 1 as higher pixel count makes a diff when watching movies. :

I like the 4 physical buttons at the bottom too. Nexus's virtual buttons are inacurate to say the least.

There there....no need to heap negativity on Desire just because you prefer Legend.

iirc, the delay is due to HTC hoarding the sets for telcos instead of direct unlocked sales.

common sense can be quite uncommon nowdays.

if i rmb correctly, for cable tv, starhub broadcast all channels during first few days of chinese new year. so by your logic, starhub should have not done so and only show a few channels which is more effective in tempting than showing all.

personally, i feel more tempted if i can watch the channel that i am interested in for a day or two rather than watching another channel and use that to imagine how the experience would be like on another channel. let customers watch zeetv to tempt them to subscribe to TVBJ. common sense yar?

i will most probably subscribe to their sports channel later this year now that they have eaten humble pie (thanks singtel) and reduce fees to $12 and secured multi-year deal to broadcast NBA games.

Desire VS Legend

nice-looking mid-end phone VS nice high-end phone

definitely Desire, unless you so gian the design and choose to give up the bigger screen/spec.

Aiya.... no need to be so sensitive. I did put a disclaimer that it was my opinion. And look at my post #158. I did mention that I am targeting Desire once it is launched.

So don't go rabid/postal over my opinion la. Let's not turn this into a fanboy quarrel over this vs that. I have been fairly objective when I talk abt the Legend.
