I love the phone, the UI is fast and smooth, the camera shoots great pictures and edge sense compliments it quite a fair bit, the battery life lasts me for at least a day, charges really quick, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is plenty with the option to stick in a second SIM or more storage space, good sound quality, gorgeous design the back looks really stunning (when without fingerprints).

What's there to not like? Lack of accessories at this point of time, can't afford to be clumsy with glass design, LED limited to green and orange only, not having headphone jack isn't a big problem with me but the fact that the included adaptor has a DAC that draws power is kind of a drawback for me.

The Galaxy Note 8 is definitely going to sport an edge to edge screen as well with the possibility of embedded fingerprint sensor under the screen. It is gonna be blazing fast of course with a faster chip. It really boils down to if you need the Note series functionality with the stylus and if you can take Samsung's lagwiz which still slows down the overall usage experience despite its improvement over the years.

Thanks for the info. To me 3.5mm jack is essential as USB C headphone isn't that common and compatible at the moment.

If you have a good earphone/headphone, you can use the included USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. If you usually use any free earpiece, you won't be disappointed with the included one as it's the best sounding bundled earpiece I've ever heard

Anyone has trouble enabling htc sense edge function when the screen is off?

I checked the "Enable gesture when screen is off" box but it's still not working. The squeeze only registers when screen is on :(

Mine no problem.

On a side note, I realised if I press the power button 3 times the phone will dial 112. Not sure what happens in Singapore but just be aware. Doesn't seem like there's an option to disable or to change the number

Just a heads up for those who unlock their bootloader, your warranty will be void so even if it's a hardware issue, they will not entertain it =(

the USB-C to 3.5mm adapter included in the box has a DAC, any normal USB-C to 3.5mm adapter will not work.

Also, what are you using to type this message? :s13:

Its always like that for HTC but if the phone can be powered on, they can't prove you had unlock the bootloader. I did it on my M7, around the 10 months old, the battery went dead. They replaced the battery and the motherboard FOC.

So sad. In the US, the SIM unlocked version can be bootloader unlocked and warranty remain. http://www.htc.com/us/go/htc-u11-unlocked

Very easy to check actually. Just reboot to bootloader can see everything. Locked, unlocked or relocked
