I was checking their Facebook page last night, saw someone bashing the phone stating that a lot of basic apps cannot function.

Most probably is a Samsheep trolling..

Mate 9 was ok though.

Agree with you 101%. Started using Mate 9 since last year. Changed to P10PLUS and now to Mate 10 Pro. All apps works well for me..

No prob for p9 and mate9
But mate10 p I tried this app. Mixcloud. It keep restarting the app.

this problem can also be solved:

Whatsapp not receiving messages in real time because of improper installation of Google Play Services. Just go inside and enable background data for that.

Settings : apps and notifications : apps : Google play services : data usage :

enable mobile data, background data and roaming data

Do the same for Whatsapp.

been experiencing it since day 1.

switch off Wifi+ and just use normal Wifi

Also, Wifi is very prone to interference. Intermittent wifi connection issues might mean you have interference. If you have control over the wifi, what I'd do would be to disable 2.4Ghz on the router and just exclusively use 5GHz.

could it be due to faulty wifi module/component inside the phone? or could it be software issue? I have seen some people reporting the same issue on the net/local fb group.

In my experience, if Wifi works, it works, it don't work halfway. If it even works sometimes, then there's something wrong with the Wifi. And most of us have excellent wifi, so the explanation may have to be probed further.

If you have an old router, or haven't updated the firmware in some time, consider this: the Mate 10 uses Mu-MIMO Wifi, it has multiple radio for Wifi at the same time to achieve double wifi speed compared to the Mate 9. Some old routers had the ability to support MIMO but the support was defective and many devices which used MIMO had intermittent connection issues.

The Galaxy Note 3 you have did not support MIMO so you wouldn't be able to expose the issue. One way to find out is to go to your office and connect to their enterprise Wifi (if any) and see whether you have the same issue or not.

If office doesn't experience the same issues as your home, the only suggestion I have is for you to fix the router's MIMO issue, by swapping the router for a newer one, or by updating the firmware see whether it's of any help.

1) enable autostart for the apps
2) lock the apps in your recent apps list
3) disable any battery optimization that you can find in the battery settings for the apps
4) check the apps settings have notification enabled (usually already enabled by default)

how to enable autostart for apps? i'm having the same problem with my Garmin Connect app which requires Bluetooth connection between the phone and my watch. everytime i close the app, the connection also kena cut off. not sure if it's got to do with the Bluetooth LE (low energy)...

can autostart but run in the background or not? i don't like to see so many app windows...

Both apps already enabled by default for data...
I trying one more setting. Manual manage for Google services on top of WhatsApp manual manage.

Yes. Tried to uninstall and reinstall again also nothing.
Have to depend on email notifications now.

i have this issue on my carousell previously, even after manual control. But after update the app from playstore, everything is working fine now.

Hmm this is weird. My Bluetooth jaybird disconnects randomly while jogging. Device says connected but it just plays via speaker suddenly. Had to reconnect to get it to play via jaybird again. U all having same issue?

Second day, so far so good with my Bluetooth earphones. Less audio drops as compared to nexus 6p.
