Huawei Mate 10

Hi. I am new to the Huawei family. Just bought a Mate 10 pro. It's a great phone. The only issue I have is no notifications at lock screen (black screen). When I receive yahoo mail, Gmail or whatsapp, I don't get notifications except for vibration and led lights. Doesn't the Mate 10 pro have the respective app icons at lock screen?

Go to settings > apps & notifications > notifications mgmt > click on 3 dots on top right > lock screen notifications > display all notifications

Not sure why it's set to off as default, I was wondering the same thing until I figured it out myself... you will need to wait for the next notification to come in before you can see it (JFYI)

i did that and it still didn't work ie whatsapp messages/Gmail etc still do not show. Does it work for you?

Ya it did, before I did the above all I can see is a blank screen, no notifications at all. Maybe try to reboot your phone?

Or you can try to set whatsapp as "manage manually" under launch in settings.

Still cannot. I called the Huawei customer service. They said that at the black screen, there will not be any icon notifications for any app. The only notifications is sound and Led notification.

Eden, is yours an icon notification ?

I can see all the notifications. You need to tweak the settings for the Notification and Status bar.

Heard VOLTE will be supported end of Dec for MATE 10

Do you have source for this?
I use my phone to tether LTE connection a lot and whenever a voice call comes in, the connection speed on my laptop drops to 3G.

Didn't use to have this issue with my S8+. Kinda regretting selling off my S8+ for the Mate 10 Pro.

Interestingly, I get notifications for missed calls and phone SMS in the locked screen

Yes you can.. you can control the aperture before pic is taken... You can do it post pic too...

Ah, I found the settings. The default setting is quite intense. Lowering it to below 1 is more acceptable. Thank you.

My Mate 10 Pro dropped 7% overnight over a period of 7-8hrs, all apps closed, WiFi / data off, however my phone is not in airplane mode.

With airplane mode it only drops about 3%, which is quite normal I think. Your 3% drop is with airplane mode on or off?

Airplane mode off. I normally don't switch on airplane mode unless I am travelling. I do switch off WiFi when I go to bed and don't use Bluetooth.

So when u get a whatsapp message, your screen turns on? I get that when I turn on the 'notifications turn on screen'. But I dun want that, I just want the whatsapp icon to appear without the whole screen lighting up. Is that possible?

Just got a reply from Huawei.

We have check and confirm VoLTE function will be available soon via coming firmware upgrades.

We are working with relevant operators team to roll this function and ensure seamless quality on Huawei Smartphones.
